Mma is bigger worldwide because it’s bigger in the usa and by bigger I mean the market is more saturated with it and it’s covered more by ESPN, yahoo sports, etc etc in the sports media. A lot of that is due to the identity politics so ingrained in American culture.

      Some quotes

The number of people participating in boxing in England increased in 2023 over the previous year. In 2023, approximately 648 thousand people participated in boxing in the country.

      Global Audience and Television Viewership:
Boxing has a larger worldwide audience and tends to draw bigger television audiences for major fights compared to MMA and UFC.
Boxing's popularity spans across different countries and has a strong following in many regions.

BTW More people watched Fury - Usyk illegally than all top UFC fights combined...

Boxing is probably still a bit bigger than MMA worldwide but not by anywhere near the margin some boxing fans seem to believe. Truth is they're both niche sports in most countries.
