Comments Thread For: Is the '5 v 5' Model the Future of Boxing?

On Thursday's episode of ProBox TV's "Deep Waters," the panel discussed the potential and future viability of Saturday's '5 v 5' Queensberry-against-Matchroom event and cards like it. Analysts Paulie Malignaggi, Chris Algieri and Timothy Bradley Jr. note the significance of outside money in funding the event, the importance of a good showing for the promoters involved and who ultimately wins - fighters, promoters or fans - as a result.

If it gets people to work together. But outside of the strange world of British boxing - no one, especially in America, cares about who the promoters are. They certainly aren’t wanna be Kardashians reality TV stars like Hearn and fish eyes

It's a great way to boost boxing.

PBC, Top Rank and Golden boy need to join in.

Gbp- Ryan, Vergil, Jaimie, Zepeda, Conwell

PBC- Thurman, Errol, Plant, Russell, Jermell

MR- Devin, Boots, Berlanga, Matias, Madrimov

TR- Teofimo, Zayas, Mbilli, Keyshawn, Janibek

I don't particularly care about the Matchroom v Queensberry aspect. They're all good fights though and if it's a way to get good cards together then I'm for it.

Weird to see this card effectively headlined by Eddie vs Frank. It's clearly actually headlined by the two Heavyweight fights - which I'm not sure makes it a value PPV.

I've reluctantly bought it for those two fights.

Very nice , who would've thought it would take wealthy Saudi's to make these fights happen. Bless their oiled hearts.

Why is this $28 in the UK and 70 forking bucks here in the States?
I'm done with DAZN when it's time to renew.
