Cotto's second shot to Judah was completely intentional, no two ways about that. However, the first one is questionable he started going to the body, and he also got hit with a left as it happened. It was low, but I think it made the second seem a lot worse being it was the second it happened. Other than that, Cotto fights like his opponent. If the guy fights clean Cotto keeps it clean (Mosley, Margacheato) but he'll get dirty as well. I don't think Judah did anything dirty to Cotto but he had earned himself a nice rep of it going into the fight.
And Clottey is the definition of a dirty fighter, because he gets away with it. He's always had headbutt problems, but the Cotto fight was accidental, however, the "throw down" of Cotto was all Clotteys fault. He throws a combo and then lunges and grabs his opponent. It might not be "dirty" but when you're literally throwing yourself into your opponent, multiple times and there was a headbutt you have to think he's trying to headbutt be again and I think that's what resorted to throw down. Cotto did roughly the same thing to Urkal I believe after he KEPT headbutting resulting in 3 points being taken away. Essentially, Cotto fights whichever way the fight is heading, and I got no problems with that. If you want to keep it clean he will, if you want to play dirty he can play that game too.
