Do you think Deontay Wilder will be considered a modern day Primo Carnera?

Ruiz beat him up. Usyk won him twice.

And the only 2 opponents we wanted Wilder and Fury, he ducked.
oh yeah i forgot he also beat ruiz so 3 guys in their primes. as opposed to 0 for wilder. thats pretty different and the older guys joshua beat were much better than the older guys wilder beat. not even comparable. and wilder ducked joshua i think thats pretty clearly been settled? he ducked him over and over in fact. wilders career high payday was 2 million against ortiz and they offered him 12.5. he turned it down. then he later turned down 100 million which he of course made nowhere near that. then they were finally signed to fight and wilder went and lost to parker which isnt a duck but is just something that is kind of funny. people hyping up this big bad guy that joshua will never fight when he tried to fight him over and over and wilder at every possible turn made sure the fight didnt happen in some way.

just the way you frame things reveals you were taken for a ride on the hype train. the only guys "we" wanted. wilder was hype. if you fell for that hype thats on you. wilder in reality is nowhere near as good as a guy like parker but yet you perceived him to be based on that hype. when wilder started fighting prime opponents like fury and parker he instantly started losing and with a slim resume to fall back on its pretty hard to say hes some kind of great opponent that joshua didnt get to fight

You can't argue that Wilder is better than AJ. Not anymore.

      You just can't.

It's true and I was one of those people having to defend this view for years against the Wilder fanboys.

Wilders fans annoyed the hell out of me, but still I'm not going to act ignorant and say that Wilder was a bum or anything like that.

Charles Martin, Ruslan Chagaev, Nikolai Valuev, Berman Stiverne, that's 4 world champions I can recall in the last 20 years who were easily worse than Wilder.

Wilder is a rangey, athletic heavyweight with insane power, good stamina and a lot of heart, that's enough to grade him at least a B+ in my opinion.

He could lose 11.99 rounds against Usyk and clean him out, like stretcher style in the last second of the fight, you can't sleep on that.

        Power S
        Stamina B
        Speed B+
        Heart A
        Skill D

        Overall B+

        AJ

        Power A+
        Stamina B-

Wilder's power is a way overrated tbh. How many rounds did Duphapas and Arthur Spillka go with him?

AJ has more power than Wilder. By a little bit.

Don't think that Carnera would compete in todays heavy's, would stumble against Hrgovic.

I will bump this thread every day until former beyonce fans admit they were wrong
              I volunteer to be one.

              I can play hyperbole too!.....

He made more title defenses, againt very similar Opposition, than Fury, Joshua, Parker, Usyk, and Ruiz; all of the other title claimants of his era.
He beat every contender the WBC approved for him to defend against. ....all by knockout.

But we all have our day and it might be over for him now at 38. I think Zhang might finish him. Ready him for Anderson.

If, however, he should somehow figure out a way to beat China’s greatest martial artist in history, Zhilei Zhang, who ran through Hrgovic, Joyce (twice), and Parker, not accounting for robberies; his Legacy will be on par with Fury and Wladimir Klitschko, and will leave those of Joshua, Vitali, Usyk, Ruiz far behind.

Here's hoping we somehow get Wilder vs Joshua; and THEN we can revisit this thread.

He's made roughly a 100 million dollars in his career give or take with a obvious limitation in skillset and education. I doubt he cares how he is looked at. Matter of speaking I seriously doubt his children will care how he is portrayed. Generational wealth *****s other people's opinions.
