Last night Golden Boy Promotions most recent brand new employee Jorge Linares got knocked out by some unknown in 70 seconds. I dunno if anybody has noticed this but it seems like there is some curse going on whenever GBP signs up a star boxer or a suppose young up & coming fighter. Their career somehow goes into a tailspin.

Lets look at the facts;

GBP's first star boxer Marco Antonio Barerra. His first match with GBP, November 15, 2003 vs Manny Pacquiao. TKO drubbing by Manny Pacquiao.

Most recently, Victor Ortiz, the highly touted second coming of oscar got starched(quit) by another unknown in Marcos Maidana.

James Kirkland, sitting in a federal jail.

Ricky Hatton, starts fighting for GBP, starts getting KTFO.

David Haye, supposedly signs a co promotional deal with GBP quickly loses testicular fortitude to face the Klitschko brothers

Winky Wright, do i need to explain this?

Joel Casamayor, starts fighting under GBP, gets thoroughly beat by Jose Armando Santa Cruz only to get a gift decision. Almost gets KTFO by Katsidis, gets KTFO by Juan Manuel Marquez.

Daniel Ponce De Leon, another GBP highly touted lower weight fighter, gets countered to death by Gerry Penalosa only to come away with a Gale Van Hoyesque scorecard victory, gets starched by Juan Manuel Lopez.

Rey Bautista, GPB's next Manny Pacquiao gets his neck broken by the guy above.

Johnny Gonzalez, overwhelming the whole fight then gets KTFO with a one in a million body shot.

Andre Arlovski, signs up with GBP gets his neck broken in one round by Fedor.

Joan Guzman, talented fighter, career in the drain.

Juan Diaz, another highly touted GBP fighter, gets thoroughly beaten by nate campbell, juan manuel marquez, & now paulie malignaggi.

Even the handling of Juan Manuel Marquez match up vs mr.counterfeit cash, how marquez was offered to the altar as a sacrificial lamb in that disgraceful boxing mismatch, his career will never be the same.

What would have happend had Manny Pacquiao been promoted by GBP? Would he be where he is today?

Look at Israel Vasquez, his career was controlled by GBP early on, looked like another solid unspectacular mexican boxing career. Some indian tribe now has control of his career & he is now headed to the hall of fame.

Top Rank has been for many decades I agree with that but how many years did it took them to build Pavlik and Cotto from scratch to well known fighters? Lolz How many years did it took them to put Pacquiao where he is now since 2006 where he fought Morales under Top Rank.

Top Rank will make Gamboa and Lopez to a superstar status which GBP can't ever do.

GBP sucks at matchmaking. They put their prospects on the Lion's Den!. Arum won't put Ortiz against Maidana..Bad Karma for Ortiz leaving Top Rank for GBP.. They only sign establish fighters and they feed him to the lions immediately. Where is Hatton right now?

top rank is a professional boxing outfit that can do independent ppv shows compared to the amateurish GBP who need hbo in order to be successful.
