PBC has no leverage, and Canelo is taking advantage. If Canelo didn't sign a contract that has Benavidez's name on it, then can PBC actually hold him to fighting David? I'm not even sure Canelo would sign something like that...because that was partially the reason why he and GBP fell out: Canelo supposedly told GBP not to guarantee DAZN a GGG trilogy fight, but they did so anyway.

Boxers should not be expected to be altruistic or loyal, and cash-cows even less so. Canelo doesn't owe PBC anything, so I think he's fxcking with them because he can. Even-though Canelo and DLH are not on the greatest of terms, I bet DLH is enjoying this situation. Schaefer drained GBP's stable for Haymon which would later form the building blocks for PBC......and now Canelo, a former GBP fighter, is causing PBC grief for trying to match him with Munguia, a current GBP fighter. Karma.

Now Benavidez gets to move up for an interim title fight, without having to exchange his SMW spot...while the actual champion is about to have an Undisputed fight. The WBC's top priority is Canelo, yet they're trying to keep everyone else happy too. What SHOULD happen is the sanctioning bodies get together and establish a tournament to decide who is Canelo's #1 contender. If Canelo doesn't fight that individual, then he has to vacate.

If Berlanga is actually made the WBA mandatory liike Hearn is hinting, that means the WBA is complicit too because that should be Morrell's opportunity.
