Like we said on the show JoJo…if this guy won 3 rounds, you need to retire.

Not only did he, you LOST!

I just finished watching the fight as I couldn't watch it earlier. I haven't read any of the comments posted. Just gotta say, I thought Diaz won a close fight. His work was cleaner. Accurate. Short shots. Effective counters, even off the ropes. Caught a lot on his gloves and shoulders, etc. But, even with that ridiculous scorecard he could've gotten out of there with a draw if not for that dumb push.

The point is that his opponent is C tier at best. Diaz should not have dropped more than 2 rounds against this guy.

Yeah, it's obvious Diaz hasn't been at top tier for a while.

It was a single terrible scorecard, but the right man one. Power difference was clear from round 1, and Perez got off to a strong start. Diaz face was marked up from first round too.

I figured Diaz was looking for Perez to wear out and would come on stronger after a few rounds, but Diaz never consistently held control of the fight. His shots were cleaner, but Perez had the flurries and aggression on his side, and mean bodyshots. And even tho Perez gassed at times, he seemed to manage energy pretty well and always came back.

I watched the fight Saturday night so I'm also late to respond. Although I didn't score round by round, I thought it was fairly close with JoJo perhaps winning 7 rounds and the point deduction factoring in. 95-94 either way felt about right to me.

Agree that Diaz had the cleaner punches and blocked alot of Perez's work. Perez threw hard and threw often; I felt JoJo's body language (as well as the dumb move to get a point deducted) may have contributed to the loss.

JoJo used to hustle more as a younger fighter but he has a lot of mileage from the abuse his body has taken inside and outside the ring.
