Comments Thread For: Subriel Matias-Liam Paro IBF Title Fight In Advanced Talks For This Summer In Puerto Rico

Subriel Matias could land a long overdue homecoming for his next title defense. krikya360.com has learned that advanced talks are in place for Matias to enter a voluntary IBF junior welterweight title defense versus Australia's Liam Paro. The bout is not quite finalized but is tentatively targeted to take place in early summer at a location to be determined in Matias' native Puerto Rico.

This would be a solid fight for Subriel, Liam Paro is around the same level as the fighters Matias has KO'D recently BUT has a bigger name. Subriel will get more credit/recognition after this fight if he's able to continue his "No'Matias streak

Which should help him land the bigger fights, as there will be more money in the pot for the "bigger" names to take a risk

Title Holders needs to UNIFY. Then that's the real WORLD Champion.

We want unification, not more meaningless fights like Lopez vs Ortiz and this. Difficult to get excited about it.

The sanctioning bodies don't want unified title holders.

They can feed Paro to Matias I think he last about the same as Ergashev.

Some promoter may give Paro, step aside money if they can lure one of the other champions before that summer date.
If they can't, and it has to be Paro, well then Matias will have to decipher Paros' speed, I believe that he will be able to do just that.
In the process he'll be adding another undefeated fighter to his mounting record of impressive knockout's, he is a superstar in the making.

Some of these Aussie guys have nerves of steel and some, not so much.

Where is Oldschoolg at? Shouldn’t he be praising Eddie Hearns for taking a PBC fighter ?

Why would bigger fights happen, if he's making opponents quit on the stool?

Inactivity and losses get you big fights these days. Someone sees a challenge, and does anything to avoid it. Matias will be avoided.
