Common people, Mayweather fans, stop defending him, as a boxing fan I want to see the best fights out there, that include if my favorite boxer has to face his worst nightmare. Mayweather should learn something from Felix "Tito" Trinidad; Don't be afraid of losing. Tito's legacy won't be diminish because he lost 3 times. Tito fought with bigger and stronger fighters than himself, Tito knew that he had a slim chance of beating Hopkins, Winky or Roy (although in his mind he thought that he could knock them out), yet, he took on the challenge, he wanted to give his loyal fans, boxing fans in general and his people of Puerto Rico something to talk about even if it meant losing. Tito could have stay in the 154 or 160 for those fights that he made over 168 pounds against the boxers mention above, yet, Tito said; "bring on the TITANS" and he took the fights. Now that's a fighter willing to make a great legacy (Blocker, Camacho, Campas(56-0) when he fought him, Oba Carr (32-0) when he fought him, Whitaker, De La Hoya, Reid, Vargas, Joppy) not a fighter picking on smaller guys to build an incomplete legacy. Common even Ali and Robinson lost fights and they are consider to be the best of the best of all times but they took every challenge that was presented to them. Moreover, if Shane Mosley would have stay away from the way of the late Vernon Forrest (lost twice to him), Winky Wright (lost twice to him) or Miguel Cotto, Mosley would be undefeated too, but he didn't, he took on the challenges that were presented to him. I will have more respect toward Mayweather if he faces elite fighters like Mosley, Berto, Clottey, Cotto among others, and if he loses any of those fights it won't diminish his legacy because he took on the best fighters out there and if he wins them, then more power to him and his legacy and maybe like that he can consider himself as one of the best of all times but not while his facing guys that can't present a risk to his career. You will never see Mayweather going up to challenge a bigger man from another division, instead, he will challenge the smaller guys to come up and face him at a weight-catch that he cannot even make, how can you build a legacy that way or consider yourself as the best ever? Nobody can't tell me that Marquez is better than Mosley because is not true, Mosley will knock Marquez out in 3 rounds or in less, Marquez is a great fighter but in his own weight class not in welterweight. So, will see who's next in Mayweather's list, but don't expect a real challenge for him on less God tells him otherwise.
Well said...I hope Floyd fans understand this better...defending their idol through non sense argument drives them away from reality...I hope the truth will set them free, that Floyd is afraid of losing not because he's not good but because he has no balls to face the top fighters at present...Welterweights, ), Jr. Welterweight(Manny Pacquiao, 2006 & 2007 Floyd, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey & Cotto fought legit opponents, as expected most of them have already cross their way (Mosley, Cotto, Margarito & Clottey, except only for Floyd) & I expect Floyd will inevitably cross their way on 2008, and the inclusion of Pacquiao made more ****e...But it only shows that Floyd retired on this year that is clearly an indication that his avoiding the fighters of his division...So since Floyd has returned, no more excuses, trash talking or any non sense argument since we all know who were the top fighters right now on his division...I believe P. Williams top fighter at Jr. Middleweight is out of the pack, he's too big for the group...If ever Floyd doesn't come up fighting Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao or even Clottey on 2009/2010, then he doesn't deserve to be recognise at all to be one of the best...Even the zero on his resume was already tainted on April 20, 2002, cause Castillo was clearly robbed of the belt during their 1st fight of Floyd vs. Castillo...

I agree with a lot of this but the zero is not tainted because not only was that a close fight in which it could've went the other way(I had it 114-113) but also Floyd had a torn rotator cuff and gave him immediate rematch and beat him soundly so the 0 is not tainted. The scores were off IMO but the win was not. It's good to hear that i'm not the only one who feels Pwill is out of the pack. The guy started his career as a middleweight not a jr. middleweight but a middleweight. I will say that I like your list of fighters that he should fight but the only name I would scratch out of that list is Margarito because of the guys he's lost to, his frequency of losses, the cheating debacle, and he just needs to build himself up before that fight should even be discussed.

You guys do recall that Mosley said he would go all the way down to 140 to fight Pacquiao, and immediately after, the fight with Cotto was made at 145 like Cotto wanted. He wants to eliminate one of them from the picture all together and then try to stack the odds against the other. And lastly, since Mayweather called Mosley out twice, how are you guys going to all of a sudden act like Mayweather is ducking him? When PBF wanted the fight, Shane had excuses, but now that he is on the outside looking in on the big money, he wants to jump in the ring, Kanye style. Jin must be taking his ass to the cleaners in their divorce which explains why he was even desperate enough to offer to drop to 140 to fight Pacquiao.
So as a fan of boxing you are saying that you wouldn't watch a Mosley/Floyd bout? So what if he called him out, the fight has more meaning now than ever. Floyd saying that is so immature, but also he says fighters with to many loses, don't sell enough ppv, etc. Personally I don't care how much Floyd makes, if I'm gonna pay to see him again it has to be a viable opponent. Look how he conned in his last ppv on even comming in over the weight agreement to insure victory. He is not gonna be able to pull that one again.

Whatever excuses will come out on that fight, Floyd was clearly beaten by Castillo in their first fight in the eyes of experts (Lederman, Larry Merchant, like Lederman's score card I scored it 115-111 for Castillo 7rnds-5rnds) even the boxing commentator & the Compubox disagree with the result...//krikya360.com/forums/ne...reply&t=313299, //krikya360.com/forums/ne...y&t=313299...I disagree w/ the argument over Margarito, honest to goodness w/ or w/out plaster Marg has a stoned chin and is a very tough & dangerous opponent to face...One needs the power of Moseley to knock him down not the style of Floyd can't handle Marg w/ his fast punching rate & continuous pressure...

I never heard Larry Merchant say that mayweather was clearly beaten and as far as compubox is concerned IMO many of those punches counted were glancing blows on the shoulder and arm. Thats the only way I could account for those #'s after watching the fight a few time. As far as marg being the guy to beat floyd the pressure is just going to make it worse for marg. Floyd has shown that he can overcome that and this isn't a guy who's going to get tired and be caught with shots from margarito. Margarito is just too flawed a fighter to beat a guy with real skill and hand speed. Especially someone with the counterpunching ability of floyd. He would box him for 12 rounds and thanks to his conditioning would still be good in the final rounds. He wouldn't need to knock him down. Don't get it twisted with the openings margarito has even floyd could slow him down if he keeps getting countered and hit with the right punches in the right places i've seen it happen time and time again.

I am starting to believe that if Mayweather takes a loss he will be damaged goods as far as in his own mind...I don't think Floyd jr can handle a loss on his resume so he try's to stay away from a possible threat.
You see,he (Floyd jr) even got me trying to figure his ass out....I'm lost when it comes to Mayweather..lol..Great fighter but........

Thats the thing about boxing though fights are up to perception but to say that that was a clear indesputable robbery of castillo for mayweather to win that fight is false and he came back and whooped that ass so it's whatever.
