Accumulation. He's beating up his opposition, but he's soaking up punishment each fight and has yet to fight a top guy like himself. Ponce and Ergsahev are decent, but very inactive. Both started off fast because Matias starts slow and is very available, but they didn't pace themselves and Matias was able to break them once he turned up the heat. Prograis and Teofimo both have power/experience/counter-punching ability to stun Matias with something he doesn't see, and are less likely to wilt under the spotlight. Win or lose, he's not making it through them unscathed.

Then you have Haney, who will box Matias' ears off until he gets into trouble late in the fight.

Exactly did the same thing for Danny García.

You got points and I agree with you, but if Matias can get his engine running he's a tough out for any of the above. I would give Teo the best chance at beating Matias over any of the others.

Charlo looks like trash. Jose is on his 5th weight class. If these guys were the same size Charlo would be ran over, he cant hurt a former super lightweight and hes eating a ton of shots hes just lucky he is fighting the superlightweight Jose and not David tonight with as much as hes been hit.

Fights like this is why I don’t watch PBC events.

Charlo is winning this fight but he's done at the top. First quality guy he faces takes his scalp. He probably wins this then sits out till he gets the canelo payday. I think janibek, Adames, and everyone at 168 beats him. He could probably beat Danny Garcia but I think even Lara takes him out at this stage, unless he aged overnight. I honestly don't know where he goes after this other than cashing out with canelo.
