So, I’m happy I’m going into my first fight at 140 against the guy I feel like is the best at 140.” Code for I feel like it's my safest way to get a belt without struggling or getting beat for now!

Win that fight and he's on the other side of the split and he can play diva. He can't play B-side for ONE fight? 75-25 is literally the standard split for a champion and their mandatory challenger with all of the organizations except the IBF. Previous accolades in another division don't earn you more. It's not a unification. He's a mandatory, and Haney is the undisputed champion.
Haney was a champ in one division who got his bell rung late by 74 year old Linares. There's no comparison between his value and Shakur's. None. Bill knew Stevenson wasn't agreeing to 25%. That's why the coward made that offer. Regis at 140 is a winnable fight. Shakur at 135 is not. I get it. I do.

A loss to Shakur derails everything it was way too much to lose that one, fighting the weakest 140 guy is a win win for Haney even on a loss he keeps his 135 titles and on a win he is in a better place for Teo, I don't think he will fight Tank or Shakur for awhile yet. Its the smartest move Haney could have made with the lowest risk.

I don't think Regis is the weakest champ at 140. Did you forget Rollie? The biggest money fight at 140 might turn out to be Ryan vs. Teo.
