Mayweather was too busy fighting Gatti and Sharmba Mitchell to fight Cotto. Actually if you saw the Floyd interviews he CLEARLY and OFFICIALLY ducks Cotto and explains why. If Floyd would have the chance to talk trash and to sing us when and how Cotto ducked, he would have done it without ANY DOUBT. Look at what he did with Mosley "Mosley ducked me in 1999 and 2005." He never said that about Cotto whereas Cotto isn't afraid to be pretty impetuous with Floyd: " Floyd always make excuses for not fighting me." "He runs from good fighters."

Cotto didnt "duck" Floyd, but I do think he avoided a fight with him. Personally, I cannot blame him, beacause he was clearly not ready for Floyd and would have lost that fight. Nothing wrong with building up a good body of work.
That article is after Floyd retired post-Hatton. The only time Cotto ever opened his mouth about Floyd was when he retired. Lets be honest, even Miguel knows he would not match up well with FMJ.

      cotto ducks all his rematches.

cotto ducked floyd at 140 lbs.
Also, Pull, you cant logically claim Cotto is ducking a guy he ALREADY FOUGHT AND DEFEATED.
      Just doesnt make sense.

mosley stopped a plasterless, shocked margo. cotto most likely won against a plaster filled AND confident margo.
proof that margo used plaster against cotto? link?
why not? don't play dumb, you could WATCH how shocked margo was from what occurred in the dressing rooms. his facial expression during his his ring walk was the same expression a that a small kid has while he waits for the school bully to beat him up after class
false. it was the same old margo.

cotto pushed mosley back with JABS for 8 rounds. he later ran for 4 rounds, and outlanded mosley in half of those rounds
        punchstats? link?

type "cotto mosley combubox" on google kid, i know you aren't dumb enough to be unable to do that. i just want to keep this discussion alive. if you really want to end it, let me know and i'll just get the link, shut you up about cotto's win being controversial, then we can move on
        be my guest.

floyd/brusselles was supposed to set up floyd/cotto, but cotto or his team ducked it

at 147 maybe... not at 140

agreed, but all that was at 147 lbs.

I had mosley up in a close fight

Most people in press row had Cotto ahead. Given that the judges scorecards reflected the scoring of the vast majority of press row and other boxing pundits, the location of the fight had little to do with the scoring.
they could've been influenced by the crowd. that's what i'm talking about

Either way, how did you score the fight?
had mosley up 7-5... a razor thin fight.

-"We’re rivals,” Cotto said. “Mayweather is a star of the sport and we’re in the same company. Mayweather was a great champion at 130 and 135. We don’t know about 140. When the company says the time is right to make the fight, I’ll fight him. I think it's a good fight. I know Mayweather's a great fighter. But I know I can beat him."

Reporter: Do you think Mayweather actually is afraid of you?
Cotto: I don't know what kind of reason he has for choosing another fighter. If you want to be the best you have to fight the best.
Reporter: You actually believe you will beat Floyd don't you?
Cotto: I'm pretty sure of that, because of my training. Because of my - I trust a lot in myself. And I'm always do more than 100% in my training sessions.

-Cotto says he sees vulnerablilities in Mayweather which he knows how to exploit. "He's quick. He's fast. But when you put pressure on him he closes his mind."

Clottey or Mosley will never get a rematch as much as most fans belive they should get it.

Floyd the bad guy would have been crucified had he not given the rematch to Castillo. Actually he gave him the rematch, won again, and still gets ****ted on for the first one.

While Cotto arguably lost to Clottey, And Cotto-Mosley was close enough to make a rematch out of it, but Cotto somehow gets a pass

                    BWAHAHHAAHAHH!!!!

                    from: take from //krikya360.com/forums/vi...e_mosley_final

                    Total Punches Landed / Thrown:

                    1) except for the 1st round mosley consistently outworked cotto by throwing more punches

                    2) mosley landed more punches than cotto in rounds 2,3,5,7,10,11 (total of 6 rounds) with the 12th a tie... while cotto only landed more punches in the 1,4,6,8,9 (total of 5 rounds only!!!!).

                    Jabs Landed / Thrown

sure, cotto landed many more jabs than mosley did at a higher pecentage BUT....

                    Power Punches Landed / Thrown

mosley destroyed cotto in the amount of power punches landed...

                    1) mosley landed more power punches in rounds 1,2,3,5,7,9,10,11,12 (9 mutha****ing rounds *****!!!)

                    2) and mosley swept the rounds in terms of accuracy of his power punches!!!!!

I'm now more confident than ever that mosley won this mutha****in fight! it wasn't just a close fight that could go either way... mosley won this mutha****in fight and got robbed!!!

bwhahahaahah you shouldn't have posted the stats!!!!

the only reason why the stats are skewed for cotto is because cotto landed more jabs than mosley, while mosley was landing bombs on this mutha****er!!! bombs!!!!!!
Last edited by Pullcounter; 11-13-2009, 05:27 PM. Reason: cotto landed more punches in the 4th, but mosley landed more punches in the 5th

That I am. But that doesn't influence my decision on who won the fight. It was close, but I had it for Shane. I've said this before, but the reason why I don't think that Mosley admitted that he thought he won at first is because Golden Boy and Top Rank had a useful alliance going on. But now that Arum didn't want to match Cotto in a rematch with Mosley in Vegas like Shane wanted it after his win over Margarito, he's expressing his true feelings about the fight. I know that the overall number of punches were even. But it was a landslide favor in power punches for Mosley. Combine this with the fact that Cotto was the one close to either getting knocked down or hurt in the fight, I can't see how you could have that fight anymore than a draw. Even a 115-113 score for Cotto is being generous in my opinion. Cotto won the
11th round, but Mosley took the 12th by chasing him.
