Crawford has fought Porter, Brook, Horn, Postol and Spence. OK - not apples to apples but certain name recognition. Crawford has a couple more fights in him and that's probably it. He'll be looking at the biggest money fights he can make. I'm not sure a Crawford-Ennis match would generate many PPV's. That's the reality. If Bud moves up to 154, that could possibly open up those titles but I don't know how these boxing associations work. Crawford-Charlo is probably the biggest fight Bud can make. It would be suicide to move up to 168 and try to fight Canelo. I don't think Alvarez would lose weight for a catch weight at 160. He looked pretty lean already against Charlo. And of course, the supposed rematch with Spence - - a fight few people want to see. If I were Crawford, I'd mandate the 147 weight. I think Spence would back out of that fight. Spence/Charlo? Two fighters on the rebound? I don't think Charlo wants anything to do with Tszyu. So a three belt fight with Crawford at 154 assuming the Spence hurdle is addressed?

You really think Spence is going to fight Boots after getting destroyed by Bud? And at 147? You know very well that’s a risk Team Spence will NEVER take so why mention it as a rebuttal to my question?
Two, Ortiz Jr is pretty much out until mid next year and rumor has it he can’t make 147.
Stanionis will be no different from Villa. He will be annihilated.

Bud fought Avanesyan and Kavaliauskas. Were those two guys better than Boots? This is a simple question. Yes or No? The answer is clearly no but yet nobody was saying those two should be fighting Marquee guys before Bud so why the scrutiny on Boots? He wants the fight.

Bud fought those two opponents as a champion. A titleholder gets to call his shots, as much as possible. I’d surmise that you would say that Spence ducked Boots as well. I have no problem in seeing Bud destroy Boots. But it’s not a money fight and for what - the two or three fights Crawford has left in him? For whatever reason, Bud has never been a big PPV draw despite being one of the greatest boxers ever. The biggest money fight Bud can make is for Charlo’s three titles at 154. That would motivate him. Another Spence fight is a waste of time and the only way out of that is to mandate the rematch at 147. Spence would probably back out at that weight. If Bud agrees to 154 with Spence, then he’ll stay at that weight and possibly have a fight against Tsyzu to unify the belts, assuming he beats Charlo. I don’t see him going back down after that. Then - your boy Boots will have the division to himself.

I don’t disagree with you with the path to 154 for Bud. Those are legacy fights. And I think that’s how it will play out. Also agree with you on the Spence rematch at 154 - it is pointless.

The only thing I keep repeating is based on what you say about Bud and the context you frame it. You state “But it’s not a money fight and for what”; that Boots is not a money fight for Bud. That’s fine but this statement means Kavaliauskas and Avanesyan WERE money fights. They were not.

Boots is a bigger name within the boxing community than those two guys. Two, nobody gave those two guys s shot at beating Bud. Boots might get beat but it will be a fight.

If Bud moved to 154 I wouldn’t call it a duck. It is what it is and I get it’s the business aspect of boxing but at least he will relinquish the belts.

So enjoy this momentary victory and don't expect much if you fight a real contender. My advice to you is to make as many money fights you can before getting bombed out by superior opponents. Maybe a tune-up on an ESPN or Showtime card. Again - - go for the money before it's too late.
It's going to be Barios against my boy Cody Crowley for the vacant WBC strap and Cody is going to put on a boxing clinic.

You make some very valid points but if I remember correctly, weren’t those Arum made fights? I do not know how long Boots has been in the PBC stable. And of course, we all know how well Al and Bob get along together. They barbecue together every month, without fail.

Yes, those fights were back when PBC was pretending that Bud didn't exist.

And I'm just going to post this for when the inevitable promotion groupies come running "NOBODY FROZE OUT BUD!!! HE DUCKED THE FIGHT!!"
