Seriously, I dont get why this is such a big subject to people or why it is so complicated. To me its black & white and always has been. 1st off we all have to admit that Floyd did challange him twice and Shane said NO. Its ****** for someone to try to downplay that but boost up everytime Shane challanges Floyd. However, Im not going to be a Floyd homer. I love Mosley and Shane aint scared of no one. Why did he turn the fights down? IDK but its not a huge deal to me. Also though, its not a huge deal to me that Floyd turned Shane down and I also dont think Floyd is scared of Shane at all. Why would Floyd jump to fight Shane after he got turned down twice? Its like Shane wanted nothing to do with him but now Floyd is the #1 star & money maker in boxing, and Shane is at the end of his career, he now wants a big pay day. He can get away with it because people hate Floyd so much that they will overlook all of that just to say that he chumped Floyd or Floyd is scared.
All that is secondary & meaningless though. This is the main thing and what Ive been saying forever. Floyd wants Shane. Even when Floyd was a super small WW and wasnt all that thrilled about fighting the big WW's, Ive always felt that he would fight Shane. Its just a different type of fight and you can tell that it excites Floyd and his family. However, he's not dumb. People want him to be dumb and act like boxing isnt a business but he's not going to do that. Fans & media need to wake up and aknowledge that it is a business and when you get to a certain postion, things change. Floyd wants to fight Mosley bad right now without a doubt but there aint no way he would come back from a 2 year layoff and fight Shane 1st. He was small when he left but now he's going to fight Shane in his 1st fight when he can make a mil with JMM? Then Shane jumped in the ring and ran off at the mouth and everyone went crazy. Now Im reading all these ****** threads & articles about how the fight wont ever happened because of Floyd and so on. Come on now, you guys have to be realist. Why would Floyd jump to fight Shane when he can just wait until Novermber to see if Pac wins?
Why would Floyd risk fighting Shane before a Pac fight? He would be an idiot. No boxer in his shoes would do that. No one. Thats why I tell people to stop talking about the Shane fight right now or stop making a big deal about Floyd saying that Shane had his chance. All it means is that he's going to wait & see what happeneds with Pac and everyone would do the same. If Pac wins then he's fighting Pac and after that I bet he would fight Shane without a doubt but not 1st. Why would he do something dumb like that? Also, what if Cotto wins? What do you guys seriously think will happened? You think Floyd is really going to retire again that fast or fight a guy from 140? No, he wants big money. I think if Cotto wins then Floyd will fight either Cotto, Mosley, Berto, or Clottey. If Mosley signs the Berto fight then I could honestly see Floyd fighting Clottey in Michigan or something for 1 last hometown fight. Would you be upset with that? My main point is that none of these guys are scared of eachother, its just business. Its the same as Shane not wanting Williams but trying to chump Floyd. Shane aint scared of Williams and I think he would definatly fight him but not when he may can fight Floyd 1st who is much smaller and brings much more fame & money. He would be dumb to do otherwise.
Look at Shane when he thought he could fight Pac. People forget about that. He wasnt even really worried about Floyd at that time. When people asked him about Floyd he said that he would fight Floyd but he wants Pac then Floyd. He said it a million times. He said that because he wanted to go in order of the easiest fight for the lowest risk, highest reward. He obviously felt that Floyd was a tougher fight for him than Pac. Its funny because he clowns Floyd for fighting little JMM but then he openly says that Cotto will beat Pac because Pac is too small. Is that why you were just giving your left nut to try to make a fight with him? Yet no one cared but when its Floyd, everyone goes crazy. All these guys want to fight eachother but its a business. Its dumb when I hear fans say so & so will fight anyone. No they wont. They fight anyone when they have to. If they get on top then they pick the fights that make the most sense. We were even saying that about Margarito. How he challenged everyone and then as soon as he was on top he started talking about how everything was a business so he cant fight Williams right now.
You guys also have to remember the size thing that I have always talked about. Floyd isnt huge now but he's obviously a different cat. Again, go back & watch the Baldy fight & highlights. He was like a flat board and it was clear that Baldy was much stronger. After that fight he had to know that guys like Margarito, Cotto, and so on would give him hell and he didnt want to lose just because he was too small. The media & fans dont get that and dont care. They just cant wait to call you a punk who is scared. Now fast forward to this Floyd who is probably only 4 or 5 pounds bigger. He's still the smallest WW but you can tell he's much more comfortable at the weight and much more able to handle himself against a big guy. This Floyd wouldnt be as hesitant to fight those guys back then. It matters. Thats another reason why I think people on here and in the media are fools. Floyd is definatly not going to fear those guys now since he's at 152. It changes alot. Still, he's going to take the Pac fight over any of them and he would be dumb not to. You cant blame him for that and its the same thing that every fighter is doing.
