Comments Thread For: Robeisy Ramirez: When This Fight Came Up, We Immediately Grabbed It; My First Time In Japan

The thought of fighting in his opponent's home country is all but second nature to Robeisy Ramirez by now. It hasn't happened that often in the pro ranks but the Cuban southpaw traveled the globe during his storied amateur career that saw two Olympic Gold medal wins in 2012 London and 2016 Rio. Even as he's relocated to the U.S., Ramirez still feels at times like a man without a country.

Think twice before grabbing next time. Ramirez could win, but likely gets knocked down or hurt on the way.

You must be Japanese. No other way to explain why you’re so high on this dude Shimizu. He’s 37 years-old, never fought outside Japan and his resume is weak. In his last fight, Satoshi fought a guy with a 14-22-5 record. You expect him to be a challenge? Please. I’m actually disappointed Robeisy is fighting such a lame opponent. Clearly he just wanted to make the trip to Nippon. Easy work, and some free sightseeing. Lol
