Comments Thread For: Erickson Lubin Drops, Stops Luis Arias In Fifth Round Of Comeback Bout After Arias Beats Count

Erickson Lubin disproved Luis Arias' contention that the junior middleweight contender is damaged goods. Lubin, in his first fight in 14 months, became the first fighter to stop Arias after dropping Arias with just over a minute to go in the fifth round of their 10-round, 157-pound bout at The Armory in Minneapolis. Arias clearly beat referee Zac Young's count, but Young stopped their fight anyway on the Carlos Adames-Julian Williams undercard.

Yeah,,,, questionable stoppage, but not a bad one. Lubin was really dialed in.

Lubin is a good fighter and on his day i think he can become a world champion he's got the talent. Fought charlo to early an got poleaxed and got overpowered in a war against fundora and they were heavy losses but he can stil do something in the sport he's young enough still and when the belts break up eventually he could get one. Arias is a gatekeeper he's one of these fighters if you're not on you're game he'll beat you he's like the measuring stick to world level
