he was in the golden gloves world championships at 165.

i'm sure he's fought guys close to light heavyweight in size.

        lol just kidding
LOL what does quitting have to do with anything? I asked a simple question and it turns into Cotto quitting? LOL you got a hard on for anything dealing with weight and Cotto.

That's what I said. His opponent in his pro debut was over 170lbs.

Actually, every other Porter fight was above 154, he's never weighed less than the Jr. Middleweight limit.

Basically, Porter is significantly bigger than Cotto, that's all I'm saying.

I agree with you on the last statement. But most of the time when a fighter is building his career he fights within 4/5 pounds of his desired weight class just to get fights. He starts getting on weight when the 10 and 12 rounders start and the regional titles that require precise weight.

Anyone picking Shawn "the nobody" Porter to beat Cotto at this point is either a blatantly bias hater, or knows absolutely nothing about boxing.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

the kid has fought in close to 300 amateur fights.

from pan am games , world golden gloves , national golden glvoes , junior olympics , etc.

he was fighting in the middleweight division in the amateurs. that's 165 lbs. which would be super middleweight in the pros.

he's beaten 6 foot 1 super middleweight shawn estrada in the amateurs and 6 foot 1 middleweight demetrius andrade in the amateurs.

Yes he has fought Andrade, Estrada and Jacobs. But in all my research I can't find any LHW's he has fought.
