          Yikes!

I thought Holt had a fine future at 140, so why on Earth would he need to go risking it all against a durable champ at 147? Besides, I was hoping for all sorts of good **** for Holt at 140 (Maidana, Bradley rematch, Campbell, etc.)

This would be an undercard fight though.

I wouldn't take this fight if I was Holt. Respect to him if he takes this fight but I'm not sure if it's a very smart career move.

The fight would take place in the co-feature slot on HBO with Kelly Pavlik-Paul Williams in the main event. As far as I've heard HBO has not approved Holt as the opponent, yet. [details]
WTF? Holt is way too small for clottey.

WTF is wrong w/ all these WWs not fighting other WWs.

                actually Larry thats not true

there are a number of reasons why Mosley Clottey didnt get approved

                1. the money was too high. Mosley wanted the lion's share (no shame in that) and Clottey wanted his fair market value. HBO's budget at the end of this year isn't all that high. Now couple that with Holt being considerably cheaper than Mosley and now it looks better for HBO especially as an opening fight

                2. The date was going to be December 26th. While HBO at first agreed they slowly back away from that figuring most people would be traveling and not around the TV and with the proposed site being Staples Center the day after the Lakers play on TV it made no sense. Clottey and Holt would be on Dec 5th much more doable

A horrible fight for holt. Clottey is already a big ww to begin with

Doesn't Holt hold a victory over the current IBF Champ?

Clottey should have taken the Martinez fight instead, instead of picking the smaller man.
