Diaz must be thinking that Gesta will gas out, which is a rookie mistake because you can't win a fight with that kind of low punch activity.

Diaz does just enough to lose these days. His problem is he has no discipline to get into proper conditioning. His heart is clearly not in it or he would be coming in no higher than 135. That speaks volumes to his desire to be at his best and is just collecting paychecks as a gatekeeper type. As I like to say, it is what it isn't.Century Tuna likes this.

Gesta deserved the win he was much more active and won most of the rounds. Diaz landed the flashier and harder shots but it was far and few and that's his problem his party lifestyle has him fighting 2 weight classes above his natural weight class while being lethargic, his corner didn't give him any great advice. He needed to be more active something he's been lacking since he left 130, he used to throw non stop punches. He never will be a KO artist whether his hands are healthy or not but he could've taken Gesta out tonight if he actually was in shape he's just collecting checks at this point he isn't dedicated.
It's a shame because he actually has talent, southpaw who throws good combinations and has a great chin, but he let it all go to waste.
