    KNOWRISK: Mayweather/Pacman parallel

Here's a scenario. Pacman beats Ricky Hatton to become the Jr Welterweight champ. His next fight is versus the Welterweight Champ Miguel Cotto. Let's say Manny win, and then fights Juan Manuel Marquez the Lightweight Champ. Will people say he keeps fighting smaller guys? Probably not cause it would sound ******. Yet I've heard THIS about Floyd Mayweather WAAAAY before this last fight. It sounded just as ****** to me. Floyd won the Welterweight title by beating Zab Judah. People bitched (rightfully so) about him not fighting Baldamir. Then he fights Baldamir next ( the right thing to do). I remember PLENTY of "experts" predicting a Baldamir victory actually. Anyway.....his next fight was against the Jr Middleweight Champ Oscar dela Hoya. Then agaisnt the Jr Welterweight Champ Ricky Hatton. During THIS time period, people were complaining about how Floyd keeps fighting smaller guys. Let's not "pretend" that talk JUST started during this last fight. It been said for awhile. But in REALITY he ONLY had fought ONE smaller guy (Hatton). He pretty much did exactly what Pacman is doing NOW. Just didn't get the same props for it. I remember when he FIRST said he was going to fight Oscar, Floyd was fight at 130 or 135. I thought it was TOTALLY ridiculous for him to be talking like that. Then he climbs the weight classes and does IT! Its CLEAR that Floyd fought Marquez to set up a HUGE Floyd/Pacman showdown. Just like it was CLEAR that's why Pacman fought Oscar and Hatton. So people just need to chill-out and let nature take its course. Cause Floyd has NO ONE else to fight other than Pacman or current Welterweights. I'm sure he didn't come out of retirement to ONLY fight Marquez. Its all about PROMOTION. If you can't see that then you're BLIND.

Good post. People always have selective memory when it comes to Floyd. Example: they keep say he hasn't fought a "real welterweight."

pbf should've beaten cotto before margo got to him and he should beat margo before mosley beat him, and he should've beaten mosley before cotto got the decision over him.

but this isn't history class... floyd needs to fight mosley next.

Baldamir WASN'T the best. But that's in HINDSIGHT. And he was the "man that beat the man". They was ZERO complaining about Floyd fighting Baldamir, until AFTER he beat him, cause Baldamir was on a "roll" at the time. I don't recall ANYONE saying Floyd should fight Margarito over Baldimir.
