Afterwards they gave time to Yarde to recover, in one of the rounds referee stopped the fight to lift Yarde's beltline/pants. The worst part was not the horibble scorecards but the biased live commentators from BT Sport - they are such weasels. I have a feeling that british boxing is on the downturn for several years now, it's no longer a good place for the sport of boxing and it will get even worse.
The ref should have warned him for the mouth guard and I'm not sure what was going on with the beltline, though I suppose I could give the ref the benefit of the doubt that he would have done the same for Beterbiev.

As far as the scoreguards go, it sounded like Beterbiev's own corner were concerned they might be behind. Your issues with the commentary seems to reveal your own bias. From what I heard, they sounded excited about what was going on and impartial enough. Obviously Yarde has the home interest.

In terms of British boxing being on the downturn, I'm not clear which aspect of British boxing you are talking about. I thought it was an entertaining contest before a big, energised crowd in a quality venue and I think it will have served to boost the profile of both fighters amongst casual sports fans.

I hope after that performance all the critics of Yarde finally give the guy a little respect. He came into the fight with 18 amateur fights against one of the biggest p4p punchers in boxing and a guy with over 300 amateur fights in Beterbiev and he did much better than 95% of people thought he would. Sure he made a few mistakes that proved to be costly but he had a great gameplan and gave Beterbiev a real run for his money. Respect to both fighters. Yarde is a legit contender and he has bigger balls that the bulk of pro fighters.

You have no class whatsoever. Even after an incredible performance from a massive underdog you're still talking trash about him. You are now the undisputed champion of shameless keyboard warriors.

He just fought the most dangerous man in the LHW division. He can fight whoever he wants. His stock just rose bigtime from that performance. I'd like to see him against Buatsi or the abuser Marcus Browne who said Yarde was garbage before the fight.

Yarde gave a good effort. He landed a few good shots and Biev ate them and came right back. I have never seen a championship level fighter so blatantly want out of a fight after getting hurt....spitting out the mouthpiece over and over, and when he got up from the knockdown he walks over and is talking to his corner, did he even know where he was at? Good stoppage because he would have been hurt badly had it gone on.

Biev's pressure is ridiculous, and I think anyone giving Bivol the easy W against him are fooling themselves. Bivol is a very good boxer. Biev will hit him harder than he has been hit and force him to fight differently. Bivol can run, but he isn't really a runner, so I don't see that type of fight.

I really see Bivol Biev as close to the Gvozdyk fight. Gvozdyk a bigger puncher than Bivol, not quite the technician, but very good. Many thought Biev was going to get beat. Biev started touching him and Gvozdyk wilted. Biev just hits so hard and with such accuracy, and he never stops coming. By far the hardest fight Bivol will ever have IMO, and I see Biev getting beat on all the cards, and then he hurts Bivol and ends it.

You Sir know your Boxing... I see it pan out more or less the same... Gvozdyk had to still be there for the 12th... He wasn't... Bivol will need to be there for the 12th, and my take is he won't...

Yarde is tough as hell, he made it rough for Beterbiev and even hurt him a few times. He's championship material, just fell short in his two biggest fights.

Beterbiev is a monster though, no matter what lands on him, he just comes back even harder.

                  Great fight.

Bivol/Beterbiev should be a cracking matchup-- if it happens. Bivol is accurate, a master of distance and has a great engine, but Beterbiev is also accurate, as powerful and relentless as anyone I've ever seen -- and carries his power throughout the fight in a way that is unique for his style of pressure fighting. Very hard to call it, as you can make a case for both fighters.

I heard Beterbiev was down on all three cards
But yes the fix was in and thank you for the info on judges
