The fighter who wants the tune-up fight is the fighter least confident. This is a good move by Garcia.

Whatever it takes for a fighter to feel he's at his best (physically and mentally), I'm all for it.SweetPbfAli likes this.

#1 the tune up was supposed to be to garner more interest in the fight for promotional purposes.
#2 I have a feeling Ryan or golden boy is going to pull out of this fight nowcharliepaerker tkoboxingscene like this.

Oh snaps! These Mexican and Mexican American fighters don't fuck around. Ryan Garcia is both hyped and charged up for this Tank Davis fight. He is both motivated, determined and focused. Gervonta better be ready because KingRy is coming for him

You guys just don't get it. Ryan doesn't want to take any chances of jeopardizing his fight with Tank with a tune up fight; In which he could very well lose if he is not mentally prepared, disciplined or focused for it. He carries the strong risk of overlooking past this guy with the potential Davis fight on the horizon if he is not careful.

On a non-serious note, if he isn’t able to fight, are they going to say he ducked & have Gesta waiting ?
That said Ryan Garcia is the proverbial boy who cried wolf, regularly pulling out of scheduled fight's or, calling out fighter's whom he never fight's.
He's becoming the court jester of boxing, who ultimately won't be taken serious when it comes to making statement's about his future opponent's.
