Mayweather wasn't a champion at the time he called Mosley out in 2006. Granted, he went after the champion (a sorry one at that). But they were separated by a weight division when Mayweather called him out. Floyd fans need to answer me this. Why did Mosley go down to 147 after he beat Vargas? He only had a few months to drop down after he beat Vargas because Floyd had that date in November. Now that it is conveniant for them to get it on, Floyd is the one bitching out. What is this that's so hard to understand?

I sometimes wonder how some of these dumb asses end up with an account on this forum. The only guys that Oscar didn't fight that was part of his era was Wright, Forrest, and Tsyzu. He fought everybody else. And Williams is fighting at 160 now. He is not a Welterweight anymore. A part of me wish he was, because he is a tough fight for anybody at that weight. But Mosley not fighting him when he had already outgrown the division shouldn't give Mayweather a pass for his cherry picking ass. And I'm saying that as a P-Will fan.

PWILL may be at 160....but he has also stated he'd come down to 147, if any of the big names acceoted a fight....you argument is irrelevant.

it's a shame ppl like you give shane a pass for ducking fighters, which will probably give him his highest money numbers at the moment, and critcize floyd, for not wanting to fight shane, when floyd has bigger options available to him.

a "duck" is when you refuse a fight, and have no better options....

With the years Shane Mosley has fought and hit in the head, he still has more common sense than the majority of Mayweather FANS!!!!

To be truthful with you, I am a little disappointed in Mosley for turning down Williams the way he did because Goosen said that he was offering $3 million which isn't the biggest payday compared to Pacquiao and Floyd, but isn't chump change either. But like I said, it doesn't mean that I give Mayweather a pass for holding up a fight that is the best fight you can make between two fighters who are at the top of their game and the same size. Williams is a Middleweight now. It's not a fight that Mosley would've turned down in his hey day. If he loses a fight against a fighter that is not known outside of the hardcore fan, it is over for him on the big stage. The guy has got financial troubles with his divorce. And Mayweather has his own financial troubles. So let's get it on.

It seems like Mayweather needs to actually lose to get respect I can't blame him for picking his fights... I mean if your at that status you can pick your work, he has the luxury to do that BUT by exercising that privilege you should lose your right to call yourself the best (especially not between 140 and 147) because the best challengers are still out there risking their stake and also giving the fans real drama.

My question is, who the hell is Mayweather gonna fight besides Mosley? Golden Boy is the company he is doing business with right now, so to me, he is cornered into taking this fight. But now that I think about it, he'll probably go after Victor Ortiz next and claim that he brings money and a big fan base.
