Fight just proved Paul's boxing skill is UFC level. Nothing more.

No, he won't fight the light heavy or cruise champ, but he is putting and keeping, a lot of eyes on boxing. I wish him success.

P.S. I thought he would lose the Askren and both Woodley fights.
I agree. He is coming in with no amateur experience and has only been boxing a couple of years. I think most people are mad because he's essentially monetized amateur fights. I actually respect the work he's put in to get this far and look forward to see how far he can take it.

Also have to give him credit on trying to fight Tommy Fury and Rahman Jr. At this stage in his career those are decent opponents. The fights fell through, and he could've have done a lot worse than Anderson Silva as a replacement name.

Why is this money grab being taken seriously by fans and the boxing media?

Jp should face a top 10 opponent in one of the sanctioning bodies. Getting old with him picking on MMA guy’s

Mate, This writer wasted 10 or so minutes on writing ✍ a fluff article. This rubbish has absolutely zero relevance when it comes to realizing that Jake Paul is a FRAUD who just fought an MMA LEGEND who is over the hill and has been on a progress losing streak for awhile now. A 47 year old legend at that. And he STILL struggled against Silva In several junctures of the bout.
I will not take this media hope seriously until he fights a young in his prime top ten contender who is on a win streak. No exceptions, No excuses and no attempting to deflect or evade doing so. Until then I will continue to view this circus clown for the legitimate fraud that he is. And YES I stand by every single word.

We can't hate on the kid too much because he is simply a product of boxing's shortcomings. The very best fights that we want to see rarely get made so we get side show events like this taking top billing. I have nothing against Jake Paul or his brother for that matter; they are simply capitalizing on the opportunity they have in front of them. With that being said; I don't look at Jake as a legit boxer at this point either. He has decent skills and has some pop but so far we have only seen that demonstrated against overmatched opponents who aren't even boxers. If he wants to be taken seriously as a boxer he will need to step up the level of competition sooner rather than later.

I’ve been against exhibitions since it became a thing. But this kid has done some decent things. He’s not the worst. He’ll lose against the elite. Sure. But why are we comparing him against the elite? He’s novice. And doing much more than a novice should do. I’ll give him credit for that. Jury all out. But I ain’t hatin no more

Why are u pretending like the outcome wasn’t predetermined? Come on Boxingscene, personally I don’t mind u covering a Paul fight, but when the opponent holds himself back as clearly as Silva did you can’t just neglect to mention that, it’s dishonest of you.
