if he sits and waits on the pacman-cotto winner that negotiation will take forever and he really still has no leverage..but if he fights shane and beats him and becomes the ww champ again(cause the ring will indeed sanction this fight for the ring belt) then he is in the drivers seat hands down..so bring on mayweather-mosley for the ww crown..it'll sell great exspecially after their confrontation..and the 24/7 would be sick caus ethese 2 have a long history with each other.....money,ppv,risk,and titles..its all there..

True it would be sick but I think that if Pac beats Cotto then he and Floyd have to fight ASAP while the iron is still hot and before Pac does his political thing.

I agree 100%. I stated in another thread that Manny and Cotto is going to be a war and both guys could get sidelined with injuries after it, even the winner. That could delay the fight even further. Floyd needs to keep the momentum going and a fight with Shane would not only keep him sharp, but also win back the respect of many who feel he should have been and could be doing more

even though you have some good points, what all boxing fans fail to remember, and i myself also hate it, is that the point of prize-fighting is to make money. floyd gets this, and so, he is ridiculed and hated. i agree that someone fighting for glory is more impressive, but that isn't Shane, even though his legacy is partially his motivation. but they've got a vested interest to fight Floyd, because, hate him or not, its bigger box office. why else was B-Hop also yelling at Floyd? because hes got a financial interest if Golden Boy makes the fight. this is all about money... if it makes dollars, it makes sense. Its a sure thing that Floyd against Manny would be bigger box office- and that is all ANY of the promotions are caring about. It's the sole reason we've got so many alphabelt titles, it's the sole reason you can't see boxing on primetime television anymore. Greed. It's whats going to be the primary match-maker too for the first super-fight of 2010... count on it.
