This is the epitome of boxing in the new millemium. 40 years ago, the two best welterweights (Leonard, Hearns) fought each other while in their early to mid 20s. Now, the two best welterweights avoid each other while in their mid 30s.
These fighters, and moreso the promotional organizations- are so concerned with squabbling for the scraps from the table of the public's entertainment budget, that they’ve missed out on something better. So concerned on protecting the "0" and that other promotional agencies don't get over on them. If they worked together they would have a far bigger pie to take from. But they still look at each other as the competition, when the competition is all other forms of entertainment.

cant believe people on here are actually surprised, crawford and spence been in same division for years and a fights never been close. they are both as bad as each other, dont forget spence with his whole 'hes not on my side of the street' bull****. sad thing is losers on here will still blame the promoters, when two fighters the size of spence and crawford want to fight each other then the fight gets made, fact is they dont want to fight each other and risk a loss, same as all this new generation of american fighters. they might fight the odd half decent guy but very very rare to see them in a 50/50 type fight, even bum squad only fought fury when he was coming off a 2 year alcohol and ******* binge thinking it was going to be easy

Effin speechless. After this bs who knows if they will ever fight each other. Any news or negotiations on this fight being made in the future are gona be worth crap. A lot of people were saying I won't believe it till the bell rings and they both in the ring. Those people were right. Feel like a damn fool thinking this time boxing was gona get it right
