Comments Thread For: Thurman: I Was The Guy Calling Out Mayweather; Now I'm The One These Other Guys Are Calling Out

Keith Thurman can relate to the generation of fighters calling out his name. There was a time when the former unified welterweight titlist was a rising prospect and contender, taking the same exact approach to invade the title stage. He is now at a point where he hopes to become a two-time champ, though at a time when the division's young guns are eager to remove him from the mix.

For someone with nothing going on, he gets an awful lot of coverage. Turing into Thurmanscene.com.

So, if Crawford and Spence so fight each other, will Thurman rather wait around in hope for a title shot later?

Probably wiser than fighting a number one ranked Ennis and risking a loss, or Ortiz Jr, although he'd have a better chance of beating Vergil.

They are calling you out because you're an easy mark and have somewhat of a name. Mayweather was called out because it means big money, not the same....

When you were calling out Mayweather, he was an undefeated champion! Humble yourself, and earn a shot at a title. At least fight Ugas! He's an ex-Champion too!

Keith has looked vulnerable and it appears his heart is not in the sport. He would be a good name in a resume and that is why they want him.

Keith is as deluded as Crawford. Those two think that they are worth more than what people want to pay and actually think that people care about them a lot.

I don't recall Keith ever running a campaign to fight Mayweather.

Kieth vs Ugas is a good fight.

Thurman legacy is that he won an "in house" round robin. When he face elite opposition, he lost. Now he's on the sidelines acting like he's a legend.
