Pacquiao ordered to shave beard
By Ronnie Nathanielsz
Filipino pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao has been ordered to shave his beard by his opponent Miguel Cotto's team before their upcoming bout. Joe Santiago, the trainer of the Puerto Rican sensation, has warned the Nevada State Commission of possible injury the Filipino's famous beard may cause Cotto. "While Manny thinks it's stylish, his beard scratches his opponents up close. Look at the David Diaz fight." The commission still has to issue a ruling before any effect takes place.
Pacquiao has not shaved his beard since December 2003, due to a request from lovely Filipino first lady Jinkee. He has recently begun training camp in Baguio for the upcoming bout to take place November 14 in Las Vegas.
