I do give Calzaghe some credit. Think about it:

    - Both Jones and Hopkins were from a bigger weight division, 175. Calzaghe moved up in weight to fight them.

    - Hopkins is bigger than Joe and weighed a lot more on fight night, and Jones is about the same size. Both Jones and Hopkins had longer arms than Joe.

    - Joe left his own country to fight them in the US, Floyd didn't go to Mexico.

    - Roy Jones is past his best, but from what I've seen in his two fights since, he's definitely not shot.

    - Joe was past his best at age 36, Floyd is in his prime at age 31.

If Calzaghe had tried to get, say, De La Hoya or Shane Mosely to move up and fight him in Wales, it would be closer to the same thing.

      berto is too big.

say what you want about his skills but even if jmm tees off on him , it's not like jmm can hurt him.

Was the weight going to improve JMM's defense? Floyd hit him easily and when Marquez attacked Floyd shoulder rolled all of his punches...

Marquez didn't have any idea on attacking the shoulder roll...
very true and also, he does deserve credit for DOMINATING a very good fighter in marquez...i understand he was naturally smaller..but people remember this was a TUNE-UP for floyd coming off of a 21 month layoff!!! hello?!! cmon people give the guy some respect. hes been naturally smaller than most of his opponents in the past anyway. and more than likely his next fight will be against mosley or the cotto-pacquiao winner. i swear its become almost a trend to hate on floyd, and im not even a fan of the guy. but people need to stop acting like little kids.

Your boyfriends have way more advantage with size up in HW then Floyd did against Marquez, people seem to think Floyd picks on smaller guys.. have they only seen his last 2 fights??

He was bigger than Judah, Baldo, Hoya, Castillo, Corrales?? **** i could go on..

Floyd is on a level which Marquez is just not at and thats no disrespect to him either, Floyd and Pac shud not meet cause he wil get no credit for that 1 too. That fight will look even more one sided and possible KO cause Pac will leave himself open unlike Marquez last night.

No one is acting like its some great win for his resume.. he was expected to win however the way he totally dominated was exceptional and worthy of note. Size did not win the fight period.. Skills and speed did.

LMAO @ sour fans. Don't worry guys if it's any conciliation, Floyd's next fight has to be against either SSM, Pacquiao, or Cotto. Those are the only fights available that can generate the kind of money Floyd needs. We all Floyd is fighting again. We all know he needs/wants money. We all know he wants to be considered the best. So instead of Bitching, moaning, and whining. Chill out, and wait a couple months and see what fights unfold.

P.S. The guy fights 40 fights, 2 in which his opponent was smaller than him. NOW EVERYONE is TIRED of HIM ALWAYS fighting SMALLER fighters
              O_O
              go figure

Could not have said it better myself. However, I do think Pacquiao will do better because of his speed. But after the win everyone will just try to discredit it.

All these idiots are just reaching for excuses. Pac fought JMM twice and had trouble but when Floyd fights him and beats him easy its a mismatch? ****in ******s!
You seriously think there were only 2 pounds difference? PBF looked HUGE compared to JMM, both in the upper body and the legs. I've read JMM saying he thought it was a 20 pound difference; I wouldn't go that far, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was 13/14 pounds.

Saying that, I don't think you can completely discredit the win. Sure, JMM was fighting in a weight class he really shouldn't have.....but I thought his skills and ring savvy would cause Floyd a few difficulties and make things more competitive. But Floyd's speed and defence would have caused JMM problems even if they were fighting at SFW, where btw, Floyd was an even better fighter. But then, even though there seemed to be huge gulf in skills, you have to consider that it's hard to show your full array of skills when the guy you're fighting is stronger than you, can hurt you whenever he feels like it, and can basically walk through your punches.

The fight is what it is. A big name fight for PBF to make a comeback with, with minimum risk involved. Sad that it had to be JMM who was the pawn, but he called Floyd out and he made a nice packet.

OK well if your playing that game Mayweather did comeback and defeat Castillo convincingly
