Ultimately it's boxing own dang fault. It just does not consistently offer compelling fights that mean anything, and so most fans (especially casual ones) are drawn to these celebrity-centric matchups that offer at least a twisted sense of intrigue. Conversely there's no attraction whatsoever when boxing promoters hold these ridiculous in-house, showcase mismatches, especially as PPV events. Jake Paul is astute enough to leverage his notoriety while choosing opponents with just enough skill levels and size to create the illusion of competition. And as he gains experience, he raises the bar judiciously to siphon more money from fans and detractors.

Let no-one be under any illusions as to what broadcasters, and advertising execs are about.

They are not interested in sport, or dare I say, dedicated artists and artisans, - which is what I consider some boxers to effectively be - beyond its commercial potential because they are unrepentant capitalists first and foremost

I don't give a hoot if Jake Paul has gone the traditional route to acquire his boxing skills, or if he has acquired them by thinking outside the box and putting together a team of brilliant coaches and trainers he can afford to hire because he's cleverly made a fortune - and then working hard with them to become the best fighter he can be.

The only thing I care about is who has the biggest heart, the smartest boxing mind, the best conditioning, the best skills and ability, and the biggest desire to win, and passes the only test that matters by winning the fight.

I think Jake Paul is taking a big risk fighting Rahman Jr who is bigger, has more experience, and has a decent win loss record. But Jake Paul knows himself better than anyone and his assessment - and that of his excellent team - is he can beat him. We shall see - that is the beauty of boxing.

As far as to whether, if Jake Paul prevails against Rahman, he will fight Canelo and if he wins Jake Paul then becomes the new face of boxing today, I would say that is clearly wrong - he would have to fight and beat Bivol to achieve that honour.

Jake bootstrapped early fights with his own money. His promotion of Serrano is out of his pocket.

        He IS paying dues.

1st mistake overlooking a professional fighter ( as a YouTuber) to talk about a 5 fight novice whose fought nobody himself
