Good win for Garcia. But what new have we learned about him? Nothing really. He's no further forward than he was a year and a half ago, when he beat Campbell. He's a world level fighter no doubt. But there are levels in this game. He needs an elite opponent. And at 135 that's only 3 names. Loma, Haney and Davis. I'm expecting JoJo next. Which is no more or less than beating Fortuna to be honest. If he goes to 140 proper, that's a different situation. If I'm GBP, I'm making a big offer to get the Ramirez, Zepeda winner. Both Top Rank and GBP just worked together on the Barboza, Zorrila fight. So, as long as the price is right, there should be no excuses. It's a big sell in the Am/Mex community. That said, most want the Garcia, Davis fight. At any weight will do. I'm just not sure I see it happening. Garcia's career is at a crucial point now. He can do what Haney has done, and seek the biggest fights ( they've not always came to him ) for legacy. Or he can be another Davis. Very popular and very talented, but also very protected. We're at that juncture now. Time will tell.

For those that are out there making a fuss about Ryan Garcia being a star, and this and that, I've 2 words for you. Bam and Rodriguez. Let that sink in, and go and reassess your evaluation of Garcia. Maybe someday, but he's not there yet.

Great power display by King Ry against an overmatched, cherry picked and gate keeping fighter; However, I wasn’t impressed. Moreover, I still don’t seeing defeating Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. Also, he still fears Devin Haney because he’s still constantly ducking him while Haney is holding all of the belts at 135.

I’ve been saying it for years, people are starting to understand. Ryan will brutally ko tank. His height will be his downfall. Gonna walk right into a check hook and good night Irene. Garcia stops haney as well. Loma and Shakur are 50/50.

Ryan is thirsty for Tank, and Haney is thirsty for Ryan! I think Arum might be more willing to work with Oscar, for a fight at 140, than Floyd! If Haney were to fight Ryan at 140, it would allow him to have a big PPV fight, and avoid having to go back to Australia, for a fight no one is interested in seeing, including Arum! That's called a "win-win!" Haney is the one that showed up to the fight, not Tank, not Teofimo! That should tell you something!

Gotta give Garcia props for his performance and for getting good size crowd for a card that lacked
I thought Fortuna would put up a good performance for the first four rounds but it was not the case tonight
Garcia seems to have bought into Goosen’s teachings , much more patient and every shot he delivers is thumping
Not being a big Garcia fan , I must admit he looked very good and I’m believing the hype
I hope he’s serious about taking Stank on next , I think that would be a great fight
I think he’s all wrong for Stank style wise and see the same ending , just in the later rounds
Just his speed will be troublesome for Stank
Fortuna was already resigned to losing the fight the moment he signed up for it. Judging by his build He didn’t train at all for this fight but only cut the weight.
He just simply laid down and refused to try. Tank will be coming prepared to win if the two ever squared off.Last edited by champion4ever; 07-17-2022, 08:14 AM.
