Comments Thread For: Munguia: Always Wanted Golovkin, He'll Drop Back To 160 After He Loses Canelo Fight

Jaime Munguia understands the reason that countryman Gilbert 'Zurdo' Ramirez would love to next face Dmitry Bivol. The pursuit of a second divisional title--Bivol holds the WBA lightweight belt--is appealing to the unbeaten former super middleweight titlist. More so for Ramirez, however, is the desire to avenge a defeat suffered by Mexican countryman Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez who dropped a twelve-round decision to Bivol on May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

He might get to 40-0 without fighting any big name, but such is boxing.

The era of fighting mainly who is in your promoter's stable. In rare cases, once that's exhausted, then only do they "cross the street" to fight another top fighter from a different promoter or network.

His dream is to fight a 40 year old GGG coming off a loss to Canelo. These golden boy fighters are becoming worse than the clowns at pbc.

Taking the Andrade approach to his career, cool...

Careful, all 3 of Andrade's fans get super angry when you call his awful resume out. Just ask them one simple question, who is Andrade's biggest win? They refuse to answer it every time.

I don't think he will fight after the trilogy. He will retire with huge payday. Munguia ain't worth giving up on retirement.

Why would you want to fight a 40-Yr old, coming off a loss? There's Charlo, Alimkhanuly, and Andrade, but Munguia would rather fight GGG, coming off a loss! Says a lot about his character doesn't it?

Just like Ryan Garcia (GBP) did more to make the "Pitbull" Cruz fight, coming off a loss to Tank, than to make the Tank fight! Now he's fighting Fortuna, comng off a loss to Jo Jo, rather than Jo Jo himself!

He'll be back at 160 if he fights after Canelo. He's fought at 160 all his life. This 168 fight is a one off. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Triple G weighs in light for that bout. Maybe 164-65. It's in his best interest to retain as much speed as possible as he wasn't the most speedy to begin with. Of course everyone has written off Triple G in this fight but I sense another close fight. I don't think the judges will be that generous to Canelo anymore. Don't underestimate Triple G's ring IQ . Everyone is predicting a Canelo KO over GGG. Triple G has a granite chin. Those EXACT same people predicted Canelo KO'ing Bivol too. In my observation, I truly believe Canelo has slipped badly as a fighter since his Triple G fights. I wasn't impressed with any of his b.s wins over the Brits , Kovalev and certainly be looked absolutely shot against Bivol. Don't be surprised by another very close fight or even a shock win for Triple G.
