Eubank has always just chased paydays rather than accomplishments, he’ll probably wind up cashing in against Benn win or lose I reckon.

I fancied Okolie on points for the first fight, actually let me down for a big acca, he looked awful though, the Sugar Hill move hasn’t worked out for him whatsoever, he looked a lot better under Shane who ironically devised the game plan that beat him.

If Okolie can establish his jab and control the range, he’s tough to beat, the referee will be important too, if he’s allowed to hold without points being deducted it gives him a big advantage.
Not many refs take points for holding, with a different ref I don't think point deductions will be a factor, that might be enough for him to get a close decision and you're right, if he gets his jab going and controls the range he's a nightmare to deal with (especially if he's allowed to hold and tie-up at close range). He definitely shouldn't have left Shane. Why do Shane Mcguigan fighters do that? They leave him once he's guided them to the highest point they've ever been and are never the same again. I know Frampton had legal issues with Cyclone but why did Josh Taylor and Okolie leave? I hope Adam Azim doesn't go the same route.

The money issues are mainly because of Barry too. Carl was paying Barry as a manager, Blane as an advisor and Shane as a trainer, I’ve heard over 50% of his purse was going to the McGuigan family. Taylor was on the same sort of contract as he was signed to Cyclone but Okolie only had a deal with Shane.

I think Okolie lives in the US now, think that’s why he went to Sugar Hill. He looked far better under Shane, most fighters who leave Shane seem to decline. Testament to his ability as a trainer.

Yeah, Shane's a very good trainer, shame it gets marred by those Cyclone contracts.

Thanks man, always good to get your insights.

Have to feel for Maxi Hughes this morning. Took a big risk leaving Matchroom to pursue a better opportunity in America. He now finds himself title-less and without promotional backing despite most thinking he clearly won last night.

I like Lou but I don’t really know what he can do for you in 2023. Especially for a relatively unknown British fighter.

Seems a bit odd that they postpone the purse bid on the basis of Rolly’s medical rather than just allowing a delay in the making of the fight. Is OD getting stiffed?

Hopefully he gets another decent fight over there on the basis of that performance, I could see maybe Jamaine Ortiz or something as a co-main on a good show. Would’ve likely had a vacant IBF shot if he’d got the nod Saturday or at the very least a lucrative rematch.

Yeah definitely a bit su****ious IMO. I wonder whether they’re lining up an alternative option for Rolly. Wouldn’t rule out the Tank rematch tbh.
