Conor Butler and Matt Windle are set to meet for the vacant EBU Flyweight title. Think it’s gonna be another Hobson/Vaughan Malta card.

Interesting the EBU chose this over Frank vs Harris for the vacant title.

Any reason why that might be? British champ against a former world title challenger as opposed to the Commonwealth champ against the Commonwealth champ at 108?

Don’t really understand it myself. Frank beat Windle as well.

Maybe the EBU won’t nominate Frank as a challenger for a vacant title because he is coming off a disputed draw which most thought he lost to journeyman turned domestic contender Craig Derbyshire.

I’m probably reaching with that statement, but I do know some orgs generally refuse to sanction vacant title fights for fighters who are coming off a loss. The WBO have some sort of rule like that but have broke it in the past for big name fighters like Cotto for example.

What do you reckon on the 'mystery' fight - they've hinted at something of real historical significance; so you'd have to imagine it'll be a women's British title or something? The way it's set out though it seems Lauren Price will be on the card as well though in a different fight, but most likely it'll be her in the unannounced fight.

Not too sure what to think of the undercard. Weird fight for Denny to take and I don't really have any interest in Pitters-McIntyre. How's Ben's opponent?

I have no idea tbh. I predict it won’t actually be very significant though.

It’s the soft touch we expected for Ben. That Grant lost widely to Tommy Fury, so Ben should have no problem getting rid of this guy.

It’s another poor card from Boxxer tbh. They can’t even give us a fun fight on the undercard like Eggington vs Pigford for example. Sam does good numbers in Birmingham too. Shalom definitely has a lot to learn.

Very inclined to agree . Yeah that would've been a cracking fight but instead we get some dross fights absolutely no one asked for.

It’s not like the budget wouldn’t be there to fund a decent undercard too, aside from Buatsi nobody else would be expensive.

Peter McGrail vs Diego Alberto Ruiz being rumoured for the Berlanga undercard.

Good fight. I wouldn't mind the main if Hearn wasn't going on about "he needs to take this step, then one more to prove he's ready for Canelo". I hope Canelo tells Hearn to get stuffed unless he becomes the mandatory or beats a top-level operator. Like if by some miracle he were to beat a Morrell or Benavidez. You just know the next step-up will be an ancient Danny Jacobs or something like that. Winds me up.
