Opponent still TBA but highly likely it’ll be Goulamirian.

Are they confident of Goulamirian? It does seem to make the most sense. I may be well off-base here, but what do you reckon of the likelihood of an IBF interim against Masternak, or Riakporhe (if they get Masternak to step aside) given Opetaia’s injury/promotional difficulties?

I think Denny will go the ranking title route. Whittaker will likely get a soft touch. There was some talk of Azim vs Benjamin prior to his injury, whether they go straight into that after the hand problem seems unlikely though. Azim-Benjamin would’ve been perfect for this Birmingham card really.

Completely random one, but how about Pitters vs Summers for the English title on this Birmingham card. Two local lads, would definitely do a few hundred tickets could both be potential future opponents for Whittaker too if he progresses quickly enough.

Apparently it’s a world title fight so surely has to be Goulamirian if it’s for a legitimate world title.

Maybe they do pull some interim title out the hat and sell it as a world title fight but that would be a disappointment IMO. I honestly hadn’t thought of that, now you’ve said it, I could see it happening.

I don’t think it’ll be Riakporhe though, I think they’ll get the ball rolling on Okolie vs Riakporhe assuming Lawrence retains on Saturday.

Yeah I can’t see Azim being matched too difficultly in his next outing. They’ll probably give him a softer touch and let him test out the hand after the injury.

Would like to see them get behind Denny now, try and build him towards something.
