Let’s makes this simple- the dazn deal is worth up to 160 mil for 3 fights, meaning not to exceed that amount and he may get less than that based on Ppv sales. The PBC deal was worth 100 mil guaranteed, plus a Ppv upside. Now if his fights with pbc did similar numbers to his fight with plant (they’d likely do more because all 3 options are bigger names than plant) he could get in the 160 range for just 2 fights. Not to mention that as is mentioned in this article, Canelo clearly gets more buys when fighting on the cable Ppv model than on the dazn app.
So you all can make your assumptions as to why he picked the option that he did, but don’t use the argument that it’s because dazn offered more money because that just isn’t accurate.Oldskoolg likes this.

Must be the same people that approve those whack a$$ knock off movies you see on Netflix. I always wondered who the hell provides the budget for them and approves them? They look like they're shot in my backyard with a potato for a camera.

Dazn contract is for 2 fights not 3,& the Pbc deal would've been dependant on performance just like you are assuming about the Dazn deal.
And the pbc deal would've meant once again shunning his manager Hearn,& the performance of Canelo v Charlo on pbc likely wouldn't have done great numbers because Charlo is far from a draw,(not to mention had he faced tiny Spence or Benevidez, all 3 for no new belts)
(Dazn is known for paying him regardless of how well it does, thats why he sued Dazn & won,& they haven't required a performance based contract)Last edited by kushking; 05-03-2022, 02:05 PM.Verus alexoneness like this.

WE?! WE?!
Brown didn't offer ****. The offer is from Haymon, Brown is just a vessel in which Haymon puts his fight on.
Brown has NO fighters of his own on his rosters...NOT ONE. They are all Haymon clients so Brown thinking that he has the revenue on his own to offer Alvarez bread is laughable.
