It is lame! He should have been fighting jmw years ago. 69kg in the amateurs is 152 and he's had plenty of fights as a pro over 147. He just won't go after the big dogs because his beard isn't thick enough.

Ugas is among the elite welterweights in the world. Which is why he was one of the division's major titleholders. The man knows how to fight. It's just as plain and simple!

It won't be the last time that Spence fights a slightly bigger fighter who gives him problems when he actually throws punches and isn't walking down a heavy bag.

My heart actually goes out to Ugas because Spence may have possibly ruined his career by him fighting so bravely in the pocket.

i agree. He should have moved up but several years of being ducked by your own peers in the same weight division held him back. He wanted to become undisputed several years ago and move up to the next division but it had been delayed due to the division's elites avoidance of him.

Morons don’t understand that “your fighting weight” IS THE WEIGHT U CAN MAKE PERIOD.
If you don’t think that’s fair. Quit eating like a pig.

To me, that was a Chavez-Like performance, Spence went in chest to chest and hit dude everywhere, every round! Spence was no nonsense in the ring, he's not playing around hot doggin, under-training or not taking the sport seriously.

For the past year I've been leaning towards Crawford but that performance against a strong fighter like Ugas got me back in the Spence camp.
I mean....great performance by Spence, but let's be real here....Ugas's history told us everything we needed to know before the opening bell. He spent a lot of his early years at 140 lbs and this is the same guy that QUIT the sport for nearly 3 years.

In most cases, quitting in boxing is a cardinal sin and ruins a fighter's reputation moving forward. I'm glad he put the sport down for a while until he got serious about it, but you simply can't quit anything when you're in against guys who bring the type of pressure Errol brings.

So, yes....Ugas quitting the sport in the past was the writing on the wall for this fight. A smaller man that quit in the past because his career just wasn't panning out like he thought. The guy that beat him nearly threw his life away in a car accident and STILL made it a priority to take his career seriously.

Cong**** to Spence and everything he's done thus far. He's gonna have his hands full with Crawford...a smaller man that came up but can and will fight tit-for-tat and find a way to beat you at your own game. Can't wait for them to share the ring!

i wonder is there any top boxer alive whos fans have wondered why all other fans dont like their guy, thats the way things work, not everyone is going to like your guy, spence gets low hate on here anyway, some thought he was avoiding crawford and loma fans dont like him for talking bad about loma at times in the past

No fighter walks around their fighting weight. Every fighter has to cut weight in order make their fighting weight. In the case, of Errol Spence; i agree. He was cutting at least 40 pounds or more just to get down to his fighting weight.

His natural every day weight is probably closed to 200 lbs. I say roughly between a 185 to 190 pounds. Which is why he hired a nutritionist and a new fitness coach. He admitted that not only was he was eating a lot of junk food between fights but likewise, he was a very heavy drinker as well.
