The words ''beat'' and ''elite'' make this a difficult question
Just because a guy happens to be a champ (as ''elite'' as it gets) in a div doesn't make him ''elite''.
The sport is littered with one-n-don'ers. Accidental champs.
i was thinking michael spinks vs larry holmes, but spinks had weighed in at 180 in november of 1979...like 2 weeks before the cruiserweight division was started
Nah, Leonard's first fight at 160 was vs Fernand Marcotte in 1979.
No leonard weighed a 149 which was below the light middleweight limit of 154lbs....Marcotte weighed 155 not leonard and you should read the right weights on box rec not the opponents lol
Leonard was also 153 when facing Marcos Geraldo while Geraldo was 160.
are you gonna apologise for trying to argue with an expert knowledge of leonard and the other 3 kings Ironman ?

Leonard weighed 149.
But the fight was at Middleweight, as was his fight with Geraldo. They were both Middleweight fights.
Just because Leonard weighed in under the limit doesn't change them being Middleweight bouts.
