Sanchez ruined GGG in my opinion. Turned him into a one punch pony who loads up on his shots instead of throwing combos. Banks has the right ideas for him. I thought GGG made the right move leaving Sanchez.

Sanchez is 100 percent dead right on this. Golovkin's strength was to corner people and hit them hard. Back when he was doing that, the A-list fighters avoided him like the plague. GGG needs to get back to that because, as an aging fighter, that's a style that depends less on reflexes, quickness, and sharp counter punching. If he had done that against Derevyanchenko, the fight would not have been close. If he had done that in the second fight against Canelo, he would have stood a better chance of scoring the knockout, which is the only way to beat Canelo, since boxing's money men will never allow him to lose a decision.

All well and good Abel but GGG is 40 years old now he needed to change it up. Interested to see how it goes against Murata I think he lost to Derevyanchenko but it all depends how he looks in his next fight.

Disabled Sanchez has lost all his big fights other than some crap over 20 years ago.

I don't disagree with all you wrote, but in the second fight with Canelo, the course of the fight was different because Canelo changed strategy. GGG didn't choose to fight on the back foot, Canelo decided to hold the centre of the ring and try and back GGG up, because his team had identified that GGG wasn't effective going backwards.

Bottom line is, it's easier said than done. Sanchez can say what he says non-stop.
But it will always depend on the opponent. Derevyanchenko was in his element and tried
to execute their game plan to the T. And he did that the whole fight. It was a splendid performance.
I made the thread in the past that Derevyanchenko won that fight and I still believe it.
Learn from the Dervy fight. If you can't do that against GG, you're destined to lose.

G's getting older but he's got a strong chin and power is the last thing to leave a fighter. Not only can he still crack, but he's skilled. Even if his skills are on the downward trend, he's still experienced enough to rack up wins. I don't think a Canelo fight would be one sided. If G comes for blood it could be a bad night for Canelo or any top fighter in today's landscape.

I think GGG did choose to fight that way in that fight. Sanchez was telling him to go at Canelo and GGG was saying "I want to box!" in between rounds. WTF was that crap?! Now, that may have been because Canelo was turning up the heat and GGG didn't like it, but that was what cost him that fight. Sure he got robbed in the first fight but Canelo won the second fair and square (discounting likely PEDs Lol).

But It's all moot now, if they'd have fought any earlier GGG would have eaten Canelo alive. They fight now and Canelo will destroy him. Who was ultimately better? Well, they're 1-1 in my eyes.

Whether Banks is a help or hindrance to GGG is still to be determined.

But, if GGG wants to beat Canelo officially, he needs to do something other than what he did in the first 2 fights. That style won on my card in both fights but it won't get it done, often times, against the megastar in boxing.

He needs to find a way to get a KO and it would make since to change his style some to get that, not do what he did for 24 rounds that hasn't worked yet.
