This. I like reading some American forums and Fury is very much seen as the defacto champion. The problem Joshua had is that he never took out a convincing American heavyweight (bar a stinker of a rematch with Ruiz). He hasn't really had the air of defacto champion for three years now, and even then there were endless calls for him to fight Wilder.

Fury is far less marketability but, for many Brits, I feel this is the first time a heavyweight champion feels like the guy. I think with Joshua's reign people were trying to convince themselves that he was but they never really bought into it.

Frank didn't mention Joshua THIS TIME but lets be honest.

1st,Frank a-l-w-a-y-s finds a way to interject Anthony Joshua's name and make disparaging remarks in his lame attempts to and promote Fury, a-l-w-a-y-s.
2nd, Warren has tried repeatedly to label a fight with Dillian Wyhte as an "unnecessary, nonevent and without notoriety or draw."

In the end, opponents matter, Dyllian Wyhte is no Schwarz or Wallin, Wyhte he's a brit and live dog and THAT... is the only reason the fight should sell. As for ticket sold....it's too soon to tell, Arum and Frank are known for buying tickets and for that reason the live gate is the better measure of marketability.

I think giving credit to one side for the draw of a fight that has two names in it is one of the bigger contributing factors to good fights being hard to make.

It's like no one, pro, industry, fans, makes no difference, no one wants to admit two names is better than one. Why? I don't ****ing know. Fans want to tell guys like Whyte you better fight good fights, but, also, you ain't worth any money....Like as if those are not counter intuitive stances.

I'm quite sure if Fury fought me instead he'd sell less.

I'm quite sure if Joshua ever fought Fury or Wilder that would have been Joshua's biggest seller.

Joshua making more than Fury most of his career doesn't mean Joshua can't make a lot more by not being a prima **** all the time, and, if fans were not so happy to accept and defend prima****ing so much there would be more pressure for pros to not be such god awful greedy ****s. You know, maybe if fans recognized the power of coming together instead of always and no matter what riding their favorite fighter's **** all damn day then maybe this fight here would done been over.

Nah, just lick Tyson's ******* more instead.

Fury actually never lost his 3 belts in the ring. He has owned all 4 & the IBO at one point in his career. It angers a lot of people that their Golden olympic champion is not the man & really never was. He consolidated Fury’s vacant titles. It drives them nuts that this fat, foul mouthed gypsy with a history of mental & substance abuse issues could be better than their hero. Fury got off the floor 4 different times against Wilder & still won. Joshua got stopped once & soundly outboxed in another match. His Aura is gone. He has 2 losses… People want to see the best HW fight & Fury is the best HW. He ended the 2 longest HW champions reigns in Klitschko & Wilder. Now he is fighting a top 5 HW again in Whyte… blah blah blah well he lost to McDermott doe… waiting for the usual suspects to chime in with their boar balls & Fury hate stuff… He not a draw, Whyte sold tickets, bots bought all the tickets… for the record Whyte is a big reason this sells out!!!! Only a person blinded by their hate would think the first all British HW title fight since Lewis/Bruno wouldn’t sell out Wembley Stadium…

Hahaha no ****e! I tell you that the nuthuggery on this site gets funnier by the year. First it was the Eastern Euro nuthuggers. I had many posters here calling me anti-euro because i laughed at them for thinking that Dimitrenko was the next great HW champion. After he lost to Chambers he became overrated, exposed, etc. Those nuthuggers would take the time & go back & erase months of their posts to save face. Then it was David Price. I said Thompson was too big a step up coming off a Klitschko fight. Well 2 losses later same story. Price is a bum. Went back & erased threads & posts to save face. Same stuff with the Wilder & Joshua. Wilder loses to best HW in the world & he is a bum & never was. Whyte is now a bum & a never was…. It is the same cycle over & over with nuthuggers & they never fail to entertain me…

It will clearly be a full house Fury is massive in the UK, AJ has a lot of casual boxing fans wanting to see KOs but Fury is also very popular.

The selling out of tickets is a red herring though, tout companies like Stubhub etc buy them all up and sell at inflated prices. At a guess about 7k have actually sold to fans in those 3 hours, the rest will be sold at inflated prices until the fight. Its a massive problem in the UK and one that Dodgy Eddie Hearn and Creepy Frank Warren etc overlook as they don't care about the fans just the bank balance. Barry McGuigan was always sure to get most Frampton tickets to sell directly rather than via Stubhub for the Quigg fight etc, also suited him to siphon the profits in hindsight lol.

Aj has a lot of casual fans who see him fight because they manworship his physique or because he’s Nigerian…..Fury is the real boxing fans he’s weight as is Usyk

Yeah but this also happens widely in the US. A large proportion of Vegas fights for example are reserved or 'sold' by the promoters for corporate or VIPs/celebs attending, and are still counted as 'sales'.
