And why is a 5 division champ fighting someone that was fighting at Floyd's 1st division just last year and has never fought above Floyd's second division?
Mayweather isn't a small welterweight, he's pretty much average. Many light- middle and middleweight fighters are smaller than he. He's been a full grown welrtr for quite a while.

Seems to me that the writer sounds more like a PR man for Ole' Fishmouth, rather than an impartial writer. His hero is, when you see what's actually there, is fighting a veteran who is 2.5 inches shorter, shorter arm length, 36 years old at the end of a very tough, hectic career, and, on the record, seems to have very little chance of beating a true welterweight on merit. Only a few fights ago Marquez was a featherweight and super-feather.
On top of that, he has to build himself into a 2 weight category higher, which, although he can put on the weight, he can't grow a fraction of an inch, as well aqs he can't turn back nthe clock............................

LoL at PAC - COTTO just a fight .... PAC VS COTTO IS THE FIGHT!!

but it may not be welterweight but Floyd is a welcome addition to what ever weight he fights ...

I can't see anything he wrote about Floyd being broke. He just said money will be given to JP Morgan

If PrettyBoy did not have a ref to save his ass,a corner to choke his victims, he would be knocked out Floyd many times over.
I have a feeling the money may not be in Floyd's corner this time and if the ref does not come in between when he grabs with one hand he may be in for a bad night.

                  Finally.

It’s a welcome return – at least in this space – to the fighter who, as they used to say about Reggie Jackson in New York, is truly “the straw that stirs the drink.”

Love him or hate him, and it seems clear in these parts there’s a lot more of the latter, it is by Mayweather, in Mayweather and through Mayweather that the best fights at 147 pounds and its surroundings will be made until he decides to hang up the gloves permanently.

Assuming he defeats Juan Manuel Marquez – which I see him doing in 10 rounds – the “Pretty Boy” now known as “Money” takes a giant leap toward putting his name on a marquee against either Miguel Cotto or Manny Pacquiao in SuperFight 2010.

And don’t think for a second that Bob Arum doesn’t believe it, too.

In spite of the old promoter’s blathering these days about his guys holding purse strings for future welterweight mega events, it’s Mayweather who provides the element that’ll draw fans out in the fervent hope that he gets his head knocked off.

Cotto and Pacquiao are quality boxers and decent guys who’ll put on a good fight in November, but without Floyd, that’s all it is… a fight [details]
The best fights where made without Floyd. Cotto-Margarito, SSM-Margarito etc.

Floyd don't make the best fights. Only boring fights. He chose to return and fight again this weekend in a very boring fight. He could have chosen to fight in what could be the fight of the year against SSM.

Since you all ready know it's a very boring fight, can you at least tell us who won?
