Maybe early on he was but after the Oscar fight he was pretty much fighting twice a year. For a while it was Pacquiao fighting in April and November and Floyd fighting in May and September. Looking at his fight history he didn’t have more than two fights a year for the majority of his prime years.

Canelo spent under 1 year in 2021 unifying the entire division. these other fighters cry but none of them are fighting 3 times a year or taking fights 90 days after the last. What was stopping young buck benevidez from clearing out 168 in a year like canelo did? he says hes better than canelo? well hes 5 years younger but less active and spent 2021 fighting bums. He beat shot dirrel 3 years ago already, why did he never unify a title? canelo cleaned house in a year.
