Comments Thread For: Canelo-Bivol DAZN PPV: 59.99 For Current Subs, 79.99 For New Subs

Pound-for-pound superstar Canelo Alvarez (57-1-2, 30 KOs) has signed a new two-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing and DAZN. The first fight will see boxing's biggest attraction step up in weight to take on Dmitry Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) in a bid for the WBA light-heavyweight title from Las Vegas on May 7. The second fight in the two-fight deal is set for September.

I’m planning on going to the fight so my price will be considerably higher.

DAZN trying to be slick here. It's already $20 a month so essentially you are still paying them $80 to watch the fight. I'll pass.

The problem is you’ll start having other fighters wanting that PPV money.

In a couple of years time we’ll be getting all the best DAZN cards on PPV.

PPV will never be dead. PBC tried it with the free boxing for all, DAZN have tried, not sustainable.

I thought the point of DAZN was that you pay one monthly fee and you get every fight....I mean, there are months where the cards are complete trash but it is understandable because a fight like this makes up for it. Now they are charging $60 for one fight?

This is exactly why I have IPTV. I pay $15 and get everything...no nonsense.

Starts with every Canelo fight and soon you're be paying $80 for Regis Prograis vs Jesse Vargas. Will DAZN, like the premium Networks, start to charge PPV for any fight worth a damn or would we at least get to see Golovkin vs Murata on a normal sub?
