I’m a big Ortiz fan and I didn’t even bother to watch the fight last night
Hung out with my kids which was much better than that so called chit show
Imo , we need to decide if we’re gonna go with fights that have an actual chance of upset or if we are gonna just gamble on all of them
Pick’em Gods need to decide amongst themselves which route to choose and just stick with it
Way easier than a whole bunch of opinions
Kind of like the commission , lol , only five families at the table

I still think we should pick every week or so, whatever the fight's level. There are subtleties to pick even in the presumed gimmies. Case in point right here last night, I lost another chunk of money on Ortiz, convinced that he would finish McKinson in three or less. How many of us would have picked Ortiz KO late? Very few if none, I believe... This is where the "shìt" fight can become interesting for the game.

I don't think there are fights more interesting than the two we should have had this week, my brother... My su****ion is that we jump directly to Usyk vs Joshua II, if we keep following the current trend (namely, not putting up lesser fights - which I'm against, as you well know).

Like i said either go with all fights or just with the ones that have substantial evidence of upset
But can’t have everyone’s opinion cause they’ll always be someone unhappy
Bring the heads of the the families ( 3 or 5 ) and have them choose

I think Koba laid it out very well a week or so ago, the aim should be to maximize participation. I think we should have more fights but change the rules so that multipliers are only for dogs. [next year as can't be messing with rules halfway through a comp].
Cobbs was an underdog but performed well and as Tata said, for the Ortiz fight I think 9/10 would have gone with an Ortiz KO - so if there are no multipliers involved that means pickers are either gonna get 30 or 40 points.
I feel like it is quite easy to predict the KO in fights like this but a lot more difficult to pick the timing of the KO [well sometimes in extreme mis-matches even that is easy but we probably shouldn't include those fights] - so that being said, I could see a case for more reward for perfect pick. So maybe instead of an additional 10 points then maybe an additional 20 points? = 50 points total.
The only thing I will say about adding more fights is to have a maximum number of fights per week - I'd say 2 fights per week normally unless there's 3 fights all screaming for attention.
Also life gets in the way of pickem sometimes. Having to research an obscure minimum weight fighter is just not goin to appeal to most people imo - so unless its a pair of top 5 contenders at 105 and 108 I'd give thosetypes of fights a miss - just my opinions.

As a fun kind of joker card rule we could introduce some kind of rule that incentivises continued participation of late starters or those who fall behind - something like 4 times a year have a platinum fight that allows pickers in, say, the bottom half of the table to get 10x whatever pick they make - so 400 for a perfect pick under current rules.

These fights be just as relevant as many others for the years, plus it keeps players interested and engaged.

Many fights have had wierd odds.
It dont mean the league stops.
Anyway that just be my opinion.
Because they were both just trash, only the detail and method would separate by a few points. Plenty more to come friend! Good luck with the upcoming picks!

I think the numbers are right for 80/100 fights. If only on underdogs then x3 and x5 on bigger dogs and x2 on closer dogs.

2/ the 20/10/10 is weighted wrong. East to pick Garcia this past weekend (although some didn't) but not so easy to pick the method and even less easy to pick the time (ko) / ease (decision). I'd like to see perfect picks rewarded more (that's to my detriment). The fact that judges and referees can screw up picks is just part of the territory and also the interest truth be told. I think maybe even additional points for correct on UD, SD and MD?
Except for the very last question, I believe these two issues are enough to entirely rejuvenate next year's League.

                    Personally, I think 20/10/10 should become 10/15/15.

I said in another post, and I think you did too, that getting the perfect pick is the hard bit - whether thoroughness of decision or timing of stoppage. So I'd reward the perfect picker more - so, 10/15/20 - or 10/15/25

If you look at the 2 fights in Texas >>
1/ Everyone would have picked an Ortiz win and most would have picked a KO - so easy, so far, but the real tricky part was getting the early/mid/late stoppage
2/ The Cobbs/Hooker fight probably half would have gone with the betting odds and picked Mo. If you picked Cobb well done but then again maybe only a quarter go for a stoppage - but getting the time of stoppage right is just plain difficult - so those who choose right either by calculated decision or lucky guess need to be rewarded accordingly. [i know we didn't even discuss having this fight but we could have done]

But here's the thing - the betting on these 2 fights is way different. Maybe just stopping multiples on all favourites is a blunt hack - maybe we can use a precision scalpel on this - no multiples on prohibitive favourites but on fights where the favourite is +200/300 or less perhaps it could be possible to still use a x2 multiple - I think that's how the odds stacked up on the hooker/cobbs fight but in any case it was a balanced fight.

                      thoughts?

btw - i'm not being presumptuous that any of this will happen next year or any year - i'm just putting ideas out there.
