I kind of think that the invasion's not going to happen now anyway. If Russia were to actually invade I'm sure they could reach Kiev and topple the government there in no time, they have most of the important advantages like air power, better training and armament etc assuming there's little or no intervention from Nato. But the further West they go into Ukraine the less sympathetic the population becomes to them so it's not out of the question that they end up bogged down fighting insurgents for years while the US and EU pile sanctions that they can ill afford on their heads. They've been building up for weeks and could have attacked at more or less any time but haven't done so yet. I think *****'s getting cold feet. My guess is that NATO will give ***** an assurance that Ukraine won't join Nato like ***** is requesting, but it'll be a more or less meaningless distinction because the Ukrainian government will remain west-aligned in a way that makes them a Nato member in everything but name, and they'll probably end either buying or being given tons of sophisticated Western military equipment that makes any future invasion attempt by Russia a non-starter.

All post soviet states not called Russia have been failures, all of them are third world countries now, ruled by corrupt, inept politicians who are just pawns of foreign countries, and in some cases like Belarus, by brutal dictators.
