    Oscar: Floyd the best... but…

“I just have this feeling that Marquez is going to pull this one off,” says promoter Oscar De La Hoya. “I went down to Mexico and saw him train with my own eyes. I saw how much he bulked up. I saw how much strength he has gained. I saw how seriously he’s taking this fight, and I’m convinced he will win this fight. He’s looking sharp, he’s looking fast, he’s looking strong. Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter on the planet, and Juan knows that. He knows he’s up for a big challenge, but he’s ready and he knows that he has to put his life on the line and he’s willing to do that. So it’s going to be one tremendous fighter against another tremendous fighter. And so I think – I just have this feeling after watching Marquez, he’s going to pull it off.” Mayweather and Marquez meet next Saturday in a pay-per-view showdown in Las Vegas.

So he's picked against Mayweather and Pacquiao in their last 3 fights. This is getting ridiculous

I have a feeling Oscar doesn't know what he's talking about.

        But I hope Marquez wins.

Agreed. Marquez is a fine boxer, but he'll never get thru Floyd's defenses...not without one very lucky shot. Only Pacquaio has the ability to do that right now.

IMO: Marquez should be a 4:1 underdog.

I think Oscar is getting too much grief from posters on NSB. Golden Boy are promoting this fight...Richard Schaefer is siding with Mayweather and De La Hoya is siding with Marquez. If he came out and said "Marquez is gonna get KTFO" Marquez would be looking for a new promoter and a lot of people who don't know a lot about boxing won't buy the fight. Oscar is selling the fight, it's what he does, he's a promoter! Same as when Hatton fought Pacquiao, he backs his fighter, damn if your promoter thought you had no hope, it'd be a bit of a ***** right?
