Yep he missed weight. The champ makes weight the first time. I don't know what they did to get rid of the extra two ounces. Perhaps take blood? Whatever the case, this tough weight cut is going to affect his vitality. He is either going to have to go out and try to take Browne out fast, or try to keep it in second gear until the second half so he can turn it up.

    This could be an upset.

Beterbiev made weight an hour later. If he wins, it counts a title defense instead of the belt becoming vacant. That's all that matters.

Guess fighting Junior at SMW before that also doesn’t count.

just because you say “FACT” doesn’t make something true.

that is just ignorant fanboy dribble...

FACT: Canelo dropped the WBC belt because he was in the middle of a lawsuit, and he did not want to be forced to give Bullshltkin a unfair 45% split

FACT: immediately after dropping the WBC belt, Canelo continued to negotiate with Mr anyone from 154-168... but Bullshltkin killed that fight over weight... AGAIN!

FACT: a few months after refusing to drop a single pound for the jmw SUPERSTARS Cotto and Canelo... Bullshltkin stated that he is willing to fight at 154, but nobody will step up

stop talking shlt rexy... you are blurting out typical fanboy dribble that was debunked years ago

BULLSHlTKIN LIED TO YOU... YOU FKN DUMBASS !!

Yeah I'm not saying it's not going to be competitive and Beterbiev did look drawn out at the weigh in so anything can happen, including a knockout since Browne is a decent puncher and Beterbievs chin is suspect, but there are several tricks to drop that last bit of weight. It's not the first time a champion has to do so to defend their title as long as they make weight in the allotted time by the commission then what you say holds no merit.

That's the weakest excuse for a duck I ever heard. Canelo only got in the ring wth GGG because he looked like **** against Jacobs and Brook. If he had KOd Jacobs fast zero chance at all the canelo ggg fight ever happens. He fought him because he knew GGG was an average middleweight who struggles against guys with just a tiny bit of speed and power and the Jacobs fight proved that. FACTS.

              [QUOTE=-Kev-;n31227133]

              based on what?[\QUOTE]

Based on ignorant fans who constantly flip flop their opinions about resume’s when the shoe fits?

If Beterbiev goes up to CW to fight Makabu as his first fight, guaranteed it would be hyped up by fans. 100% guarantee. Makabu will magically transform into a great top 3 fighter. No one would oppose Arthur fighting Makabu. And by no one, I mean it would be rare, a small percentage.

Makabu would literally be the 2nd top 3 fighter Beterbiev has ever fought in his career.

Fans have low standards for who they like, and high standards when they don’t like a boxer. That’s just the way it. From my join date of 2006 til present.

This is basically like an unwritten silly rule among boxing fans on forums and media: If you don’t like a fighter for whatever reason, demand that he needs to fight higher risk opponents and jump up 50lbs.

Beterbiev’s next opponent, #5 Ring ranked Marcus Browne, is seen as a good fight by fans and media (it is a good match IMO). If it was Canelo vs Browne, the high standards would come back up and the Canelo critics would swing their purses at Canelo.
Kev, you sir have won post of the day honors and everything you said is 100% correct!

Some of you folks are so dead set on celebrity worship it’s silly. Jacobs and Brook were and have been skilled former champs. How a fighter looks against skilled, ranked former champions has no bearing as to whether “the next fight” will happen. That’s how competition works. You’re supposed to have a struggle against ranked opponents. I’ll say it again, for fighters people hate they are expected to fight 10 opponents in one night 20 minutes apart. If they win them all their hate club would still say they lost because they failed to KO every opponent they faced on that night.

                Its ridiculous. It’s silly. It’s childish .

No it's because we had no idea how GGG would do against a skilled opponent, most people thought GGG would destroy those 2, he didn't, he got exposed. This is why canelo fought him, he was terrified to fight GGG when everyone thought he'd destroy people like Jacobs.

GGG has never been “exposed.” Another catchphrase of the hate boxer club when the boxer they hate faces opposition after a struggle. I guess based on your logic Hearns was “exposed” by Hagler.

Hagler vs Hearns was elite vs elte, GGG vs. Brook was supposed to be an easy fight, a middleweight vs a weltwerweight, no excuses, those fights proved that GGG is very very beatable. Again it's fact that canelo would not have fought him if he had destroyed those 2, you can come at me with all the hateful rhetoric you want, but facts are facts.
