I think what he says is true.

Most of HIS GENERATION, ie 60-90 year olds, simply do not enjoy the UFC/MMA fights.

Funny how no one mentioned the fact that he admitted that they (as the movers and shakers in boxing) are trying to duplicate some of the things that the UFC is doing right now.

For example: Stacking cards giving the customer their money's worth.

You don't have to like the UFC or MMA, but you cannot deny the fact that the emergence of the UFC has pushed boxing promoters to improve their product.

    Who wins?

    US, THE FANS.

Both MMA and boxing have they're pros and cons, though.
      totally agree.

I have been a fan of both since I was a young boy and will continue to follow both sports.

We have few big fights comin up in Boxing in a few month period. Mayweather vs JMM. Cotto vs Manny Pac, Vitali vs Arreloa, Haye vs Valuev, Pavliv vs Williams. this is other a period of 3 months.

UFC 107 card has these fights on it Bj Penn vs Diego Sanchez, Kenny Florian vs Clay Guida, Thiago Alves vs Paulo Thiago, Frank Mir vs Chieck Kongo. thats just all on one card. til Boxing can do a card like this it will continue to get the term that "Boxing is Dying"

You know...I have to say Bob Arum is entitled to his opinion just like the next person, but to make those generalizations, it's clearly inaccurate. Especially when the sport (MMA) has a large Brazilian/Latino/Black audience and participants.
Anyway...although boxing is my favorite sport, I learned to respect MMA. I personally box, and had martial arts (Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido) experience when I was younger so I think the two can co-exsist...I just think the promoters should just leave that feued alone.
I'm not going to lie though...I've trained with my boy who trains MMA approx same weight...his strikes aren't touching me...lol straight up..his "Stand up" game is nothing compared to boxing technically speaking just too quick...NAH MEANE! lol

Boxing has been dying for 100 years, who gives a **** what people think. Give me good fights and you can say Boxing is dead and buried, I'll even buy some flowers.

Bob is 100% right. And as much as I hate that "sport", I used to think boxing and MMA could co-exist. Dana White now seems to be on a mission to destroy boxing, and I do feel threatened by that. What's to stop him from scheduling these UFC events the same day as every major boxing PPV? This fad will come to pass, and his greed will ultimately be his undoing.

It's alot harder to make quality fights in boxing because the great fighters are much better then the good ones. In MMA anybody can beat anybody so they can put any 2 bums together and it's a quiality fight according to the MMA fanboys. Really there so called great undercards usually suck ****. It's just that in MMA you can put guys with 2-3 and 5-9 records together and it's a great fight.
