Nah, he was fine cutting weight and, bringing smaller fighters to his division. Smith and Saunders are not nor were elite fighters, like Mayweather, Lara and ggg. And plant came to fight, but was outgunned. He unified a weak division, not his fault. They are a couple of young guns coming up the ladder. Hopefully one of them could be the guy that, can offer a good fight. Be safe

      Lara, elite? Wat

Plant wasnt just outgunned, he was beaten up and outboxed. Its not difficult to shell up for 10-12 rounds and throw a token jab or counter. Just ask Joshua Clottey or Mikey Garcia. Plant was in survival mode and he STILL couldn't survive.

Plant is not elite but he is adept defensively

Plant wasn't outboxed. The ginger went thru his shots like nothing, that's outgunned. And yes Lara in his prime was elite. Just ask canelo.

          canelo stops current ggg

GGG and his stans billed himself as this avoided fearless terminator. Claimed anyone 154-168 could get it. GGG had two shots against canelo, canelo gave him two different looks, boxed him and walked him down. GGG had 2 chances and 2 styles to convincingly beat canelo and he blew them. He could have erased all doubt of who was the better fighter. Instead he had two close fights and now his legacy is crying he was robbed with canelo and hyping up his close win with jacobs. beyond that its all bums he faced.

Canelo has moved on and cleared out 168. GGG used to day dream about taking on the champs at 168. Now Canelo is all the champs at 168

If all Plant could do was shell up and through pitter patter jabs that's being outboxed. Plant was too concerned of a counter punch to sit on his punches. That's being outboxed. Boxing is NOT just potshotting and moving...it is also CONTROLLING the tempo and exchanges. Canelo outboxed AND outgunned Plant.

Lara, elite? Prime Lara? The one who went life and death with Vanes?!?!?! The one who was afraid to punch at pre-prime Canelo?!?!?

Wow that's a murderous perspective. Sadly it kind of rings true, too. GGG is living off Canelo the same way Floyd does. Floyd nor GGG ever achieved lineal/undisputed status and neither guy jumped 2 weight classes overnight. I'm not saying Canelo is better than GGG or Floyd (though he clearly is better than GGG) but Canelo has accomplished more in a sense.

I didn't see any out boxing nor a masterful class. I saw a very determined fighter, canelo, going after Plant's body, and Caleb couldn't keep him away, because he didn't have the high caliber guns to make him think. That's what I saw.

So Floyd, at 152lbs and 35 years old, had more guns to keep Canelo away than 29yr old 168lb Plant.

Floyd outboxed Canelo and Plant isnt Floyd

Yup but GGG is over the hill now.

he's not doing anything at 40 years old to beat Canelo now
