Manny isn’t in the discussion. He had a great career and won a solid 62 of his 72 fights. But he’s being compared to a guy who won 50 of his 50 fights and beat him head to head. The discussion is over. Mayweather was the best of his era.

The definition of RISK TAKING and confidence building is fighting guys like -
Larios (BFD), Diaz(BFD), Shot Clottey, Shot DLH*, Cotto*, Shot Margarito*, Shot Algieri*, Life and Death with JMM (teehee), Shot Broner, Shot Lucas, Shot Rios, Shot Mosley, pillow puncher Vargas and pillow puncher Bradley (3x), HORN ().....
Let's not even mention his shlt prior to moving to WW.
The DLH and Cotto that May fought would have KILLED Pac
Nelo was never an option above 145 for Pac
Basic AF Ugas is now considered a future HOFer!!!!

Floyd is retired now, seems happier than ever (which is great to see) yet he still gets hate from all angles. True fight fans do appreciate him but like most all time greats it can be decades before they truly get the respect they deserve.
For me, Floyd is the greatest of my era (I am early 30’s,) he is a wizard in the ring and it really annoys me when people disrespect him. He has done so much for the sport
When do you think he will get the credit he deserves?

the guy has pride expecting pacquiao to buckle to the first of Floyd's demands would only show weakness and put him In a position of being bombarded by other ridiculous demands
Pacquiao was willing to fight with similar stipulations mayweathers previous opponents had

It's similar stuff we don't take away from hagler when he was obviously past his prime I that close defeat
Mayweather was hurt twice against pacquiao that's hardly cruise control my friend
Let's expand upon this a little further.
Spoon's thread provides links to round-by-round analysis videos clearly demonstrating that manny outlanded floyd in most of the rounds. Not only did manny land more punches - his punches were also much harder. Was manny ever wobbled in the fight? No. Was floyd wobbled? Yes.
In the 5 years that thread has existed, have there been any convincing arguments to suggest these videos are wrong? No - therefore, we have to conclude that manny did in fact outland floyd by a significant margin and also land more effective punches on average.
Most unbiased, logical people would conclude that getting outlanded by your opponent by 40% does not qualify as cruise-control.
Then let's also consider the following:
Floyd had to go out of his way to pay for the testing out of his own pocket so that he could get favorable testing. This had to be done so that he could use PEDS / other illegal substances. We know for a fact that he had to receive a retroactive TUE for illegal IVs, which is definitely not normal. If floyd was not paying usada himself, would he have received a TUE? Probably not, most likely he would have been labeled a blatant drug cheat and his "win" would have been turned into a no-contest (or a loss, considering he actually lost the fight in most peoples' eyes).
So on the one hand, he was outboxed and outlanded in the fight. On the other hand, he had to go out of his way to fund USADA and then damage his own body with PEDS/illegal substances to the point that 5 years later he got beat up by a youtuber. I too am puzzled as to how floyd's performance could be synonymous with cruise control.Rec28

I guarantee you this, had May fought those same guys when Pac fought them, you fan bois would be lambasting May for picking on shot no hopers (some with a clause attached). His fellow countrymen was SHOCKED Pac was ready to fight Spence without a clause. Hiss own countrymen call him the catch weight king.
The Cotto May beat would have humiliated Pac. Probably retire him on the spot.

Nothing but pure risk taking.
